Playing the 'I understand basketball better than you' card while falling for a fancy crossover and little else was funny though.

I mean, you do you, and I think it's admirable that you defend your guy like you are, but anyone worth their salt knows Durant is one of the most skilled players AND one of the most skilled scorers to ever play the game, on a level that Giannis COULD one day reach, but isn't quite there yet.

My original reply took issue with just Durant not the other players mentioned specifically because Durant is not that skilled, it has little to do with Giannis other than by direct comparison. I'm not here to argue that Giannis is one of the most skilled ever. The idea that Durant one of the most skilled to ever play is supremely daft. He's not adept at all at getting to the rim for a wing, has an extremely lose handle for a star, he's very one sided, this is why he could come back so well from his Achilles injury, he's left foot dominant. He doesn't have the rest of the all round skills that don't include scoring. Sorry mate, you have no idea what you're looking at when you watch basketball and you've hit me with a casual fan take.

A very clear Bucks fan is talking to a Laker fan who really has no horse in this race and calls ME out for being a 'casual fan' when all we gotta do is look at your sig and see your bias.

But again, like I said, you do you.

Man, you took two goes at quoting me and went for an appeal to authority and a weird reference to my sig which features two jokes you don't understand. That's 0/2 on addressing the substance, maybe just take your L and call it a day?

I just read that and I agree. That is something an Onion writer would write as a joke and then delete it before the boss stops by.

If there was a counter for every time Arenas says something stupid, you could use it as a wall clock.

IDK what you're talking about...you clearly have a Bucks logo under your handle, so I think it's safe to say you're a Bucks fan.

If you truly believe Giannis body of work and basketball skill is on par with Durant's body of work, I mean, OK.

Giannis has been doing it, what for 3 years now? Durant is going on year 16.

Like I said, Giannis has it in him, but he's not there yet. Lets see a 50/40/90 from Giannis while averaging 28 PPG before we put him on the same plane as Durant.

aaaand there we have it, right back at the start where skill = shooting. Thanks for playing my dude.

Saying Durant is more skilled than Giannis is like saying Kyrie is more skilled than prime Jason Kidd. Hilarious to even suggest that Durant has better IQ, passing vision, block timing, screen-setting, rebounding, post footwork, and dribbling through traffic skill than Giannis. But yeah, shooting and "dat crossover" outweighs all that other meaningless stuff lol.

in some ways yes and others no. But he should really try to do that first in the nba, but not as a head coach.

Gilbert always has a weird way of using random numbers to fit his narrative.

Giannis playing around 30mpg is not his fault. That’s his coach’s decision. Funny how Gilbert thinks it’s so black and white.

I still remember several years ago when Gilbert said Steph Curry isn’t an elite point guard because his assists are low. Yet Gilbert completely ignores that Kerr’s system involves constant ball movement which is the reason why the Warriors always lead the league in assists.

Giannis could easily play 40+ mpg the same way Steph could easily run pick and rolls every play and get 10+ apg, but there’s more to greatness than superficial stats.

You mean the guy who robs strip club ATM machines, and teaches how to online, took guns on planes, mocked it on TV, and hosts a show with a pretty stupid porn star said something dumb?

Well damn I'm shocked!!!

Gilbert is known for doing what it takes to stay relevant. I X'ed him out a few years ago because of all the ignorant things hr would say. The last thing I remember him discussing before I stopped following him on social media was that Marbury was better than Stockton.

You are rather arrogant for someone who is kinda just a homer. Giannis is great, but he isn't (not yet) on Durant's level.

50/40/90 averaging 10 PPG is one thing. Averaging 28PPG is a whole 'nother story.

Study the game a bit more, lose the bias, then we can have this conversation again. Maybe by then, you'd be right about Giannis.

I guess the only push back I would have is Giannis is not a shooter and expecting a player who's not a shooter to average 50/40/90 or close to it seems a weird ask to me. Plus Giannis's efficiency kind of makes up for his lack of shooting.

Looks like Arenas is doubling down. This is why I don't think he's trying to troll for ratings and that he actually believes what he's saying. It wouldn't surprise me if a lot of ex and current players feel the same about Giannis's game. But again what all of these players forget is this is a team results based industry. If Giannis's game is all physical and he wins titles and his team wins games, so what?

Sure, but to average nearly 30PPG on outstanding shooting like that, takes a certain level of skill. A very, very high, all-time great level of skill.

BBALLBREAKDOWN, a great YouTube channel by a great basketball analyst, does a very good job comparing and contrasting the two players, and gets a lot of flak (by Bucks fans) for often speaking about Giannis shortcomings (even though he often spends LOADS of time praising him).
