Yeah, bruh..Dwyane Wade....LeBron..... Bosh.... But that doesn't fit the criteria of the OP, so you're forgiven. Although, Miami did get Wade back after he was past his prime, same with Mourning:

I'll go with:

Shaq
Mourning 2.0
Iguodala
Dwyane Wade 2.0
Penny Hardaway

If the Mourning and Wade picks are cheating, then:

Shaq
Amare
Iguodala
Ray Allen
Penny Hardaway

I went with Tiny for two reasons 1). We didn't get him until after the achilles in his thirties (Right? Thirties?) and he wasn't quite the same and 2). I gotta have my Tiny Pistol backcourt.

I started with this:
Tiny, Payton, Marbury, Cassell
Pistol, Ray, Bing, Birdsong
Nique, Finley
KG, Sheed
Shaq, Gilmore, Walton, JO

I mean,
Marbury
Birdsong
Finley
Sheed
JO,
is still better than many teams can put together lol.

The OP explicitly ruled out guys who were all-stars while they played for your team. So no Tiny and no DJ.

I might've known that if I'd read the whole post.

Edit
Bing
Pistol
Nique
Sheed
Walton

I always forget that Bing was a Celtic.

Mavs:
C: Tyson Chandler
PF: Dirk Nowitzki
SF: Shawn Marion
SG: Vince Carter
PG: Jason Kidd

That was an easy one actually.
The Mavs are dead to me now.

Yeah apparently not many people like to spend their pre-retirement in Minneapolis?

Could throw Brandon Roy in there instead of Sprewell.

You forgot plenty. We go three deep on old farts.

Gary Payton / Mike Bibby / Rod Strickland
Ray Allen / Eddie Jones (resigned) / Jim Jackson
Shawn Marion / Cedric Ceballos / Dale Ellis
Amare Stoudamire / AC Green / LaPhonso Ellis
Shaquille O'Neal (though you could argue he was still a star) / Alonzo Mourning (resigned) / Jermaine O'Neal

Even keeping it to guys who were mostly washed or at least long past prime, there are A LOT of candidates:
Jerry Lucas
Randy Smith
Paul Westphal
Mike Newlin
Truck Robinson
Kiki Vandeweghe
Maurice Cheeks
Xavier McDaniel
Rolando Blackman
Doc Rivers
Derek Harper
Herb Williams
Buck Williams
Terry Cummings
Dennis Scott
Glen Rice
Clarence Weatherspoon
Vin Baker
Penny Hardaway
Dikembe Mutombo
Antonio McDyess
Steve Francis
Larry Hughes
Baron Davis
Kenyon Martin
Metta World Peace
Joakim Noah
Jason Kidd
Rasheed Wallace
Tracy McGrady
Derrick Rose

For a starting five, I think I would go with:
Kidd
T-Mac
Rose
Mutombo
Jerry Lucas (for those that don't know, HOF, 75th Anniversary Team, ROY, 3x All-NBA 1st team, 2x All-NBA 2nd team, 4th all time in career rpg, 3 seasons of 20+ points and 19+ rebounds per game)
Just because it happened to you, doesn't make it interesting.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Yesterday I was lying; today I'm telling the truth.

I am sure I am missing someone because I came up with this quickly, and it's a little big wth Hill playing SG, but this would be a pretty solid team.

Chris Paul
Grant Hill
Cliff Robinson
Danny Manning
Shaq

Hill was a solid 3pt shooter for the Suns in their 09-10 WCF season hitting 43.8% and was 39.5% the next year. Robinson also shot 41.7% from 3 his 2nd year with the Suns and 37% and 36% the next 2 years.

At first it appears shooting might be an issue with this team, but it's better than it appears.

Only in the Knicks last 20 years:

Jason Kidd/Derrick Rose/Chauncey Billups/Kemba Walker/Mike Bibby/
Penny Hardway/Baron Davis/Jose Calderon
Tracy McGrady/Jalen Rose/Metta World Peace
Rasheed Wallace/Antonio McDyess/Kenyon Martin
Dikembe Mutombo/Joaquin Noah/DeAndre Jordan/Taj Gibson
BAF Brooklyn - Pre-Season NBA 2K Simulation 2023 Champions.

Brunson/Nembhard/Micic
IQ/Strus/Ben Sheppard
Butler/Nesmith/Watford
Batum/Boucher/Morris/
Embiid/Plumlee/Landale/

Each player should have been generally considered a marquee player (perennial all-star and/or all-NBA nominee) for a sustained period (say, six seasons or more) before playing for your favorite franchise during the twilight/ring-chasing/bench-riding part of his career. If you can't find a candidate that meets the 'marquee player' standard, pick the player whom you think had the best career during his prime.

The players cannot have made an all-star team while on your team, and they shouldn't be/have been considered a primary contributor (full-time starter, 30+ mpg, offensive focal point, etc.) unless your team is/was a bad/losing team and they are/were only getting their numbers as garbage stats.

SPURS
C: Moses Malone
PF: Pau Gasol
SF: Dominique Wilkins
SG: Glenn Robinson
PG: Doc Rivers

I like my frontcourt, but I had a hard time with the backcourt and may revisit this later.

Surprised you left out Tmac. edit reread your post :)

Good idea for a thread and very challenging if you actually follow the rules.

Denver Nuggets

Tim Hardaway (5 all-star selections, 5 x All-NBA, 1 x top 5 MVP voting)
Dale Ellis (1 all-star selection, 1 x All-NBA)
Walter Davis (6 all-star selections, 2 x All-NBA, 1 x top 5 MVP voting, 1978 Rookie of the Year)
Paul Silas (2 all-star selections, 5 x All-Defensive)
DeMarcus Cousins (4 all-star selections, 2 x All-NBA)

BENCH:
Ricky Pierce (1 all-star selection, 2 x 6th man of the year)
Isaiah Thomas (2 all-star selections, 1 x All-NBA, 1 x top 5 MVP voting)
Roy Hibbert (2 all-star selections, 1 x All-Defensive)
Juwan Howard (1 all-star selection, 1 x All-NBA)
Chris Gatling (1 all-star selection)
Jameer Nelson (1 all-star selection)
Kenny Smith

CP3 has been an All-Star for the Suns, but Penny can take over for him. VC at SG (with Hill shifting to SF) and Jermaine O’Neal at PF are others who might fit as starters.

Sure he's been an all star for the Suns, but he is far from his prime. Heck, Shaq was an all star..is he ineligible too? It says post prime.

Bench: Penny Hardaway, Jason Richardson, Jalen Rose, Danny Manning

That's all I could come up with

I forgot about Carter. I don't think McDyess was past his prime though. He was just getting into his prime.

Carter would definitely have to play 2 instead of someone in my 5 and Hill has to be there given his prime. I am unsure who I'd go with between Robinson and Manning. Manning probably a higher IQ player but Cliff the better shooter so probably Cliff. Cliff was also All Defensive team twice and an all star. Manning was a 2x all star as well.

Penny obviously would be a strong sixth man. I thought of Richardson...I couldn't remember if he was that far past his prime or not or if I would consider him a star or that great at his peak.

Beyond disrespectful to Thad, Oak and Gasol who were key pieces

Curry was a key shooter on a very good raptor team and Mugsy was a heavy minute guy.

The Raptors could field a whole roster... yes some if these were due to injury... but fact remains, they were good elsewhere and much much worse as a Raptor.

Strickland / Dragic / Lin / Telfair
Peja / Robertson / Fields
Marion /Kleiza / Hedo
O'Neal Salley / Scola

I’d forgotten he was an All-Star with the Suns, but from the OP that would make him ineligible too. Pretty sure Tyson Chandler is the next choice at C.
