Re: Scottie pippen vs reggie miller better peak
Well it's basically Miller's efficiency and motion/gravity vs Pippen's everything else. I think you'd have to identify each peak year then look at how they did in the playoffs to some degree. Off the top of my head I'd lean Pippen just because his defense was so good compared to Miller.

Have them in the same general tier, so can see the case either way, but voted Miller because he was a #1 option pretty much his whole career where Pippen had the benefit of playing next to the greatest #1 option of all time for most of his.
When prime Pippen didn't have MJ to do the heavy lifting the Bulls flamed out in the playoffs vs Reggie leading the Pacers on multiple deep runs.

I dont know how much i would call 94 bulls a "flameout", they got to seven games against the eventual conference winner
And is not like he did have more years as a team best player to compare

Damn this is a hard one because we can't act like Reggie wouldn't have gotten busy on the Bulls
I have to go with Scottie because I think the gap between them defensively is larger than the gap between them offensively

They also outscored the Knicks over seven games and game 5 had a controversial ending. Replace Pete Myers with an average player and there’s a decent chance that the ‘94 Bulls win a title.

Yep, the 94 bulls were legit good, and in 95 pippen still kept them afloat without grant before jordan return

It’s a tough one, very close. And they are just about coming up, both being around the 25-30 mark. I’ll definitely have to dig deeper on this one.

Hmmm always thought Pippen had a clear advantage at his peak.
This place is a cesspool of mindless ineptitude, mental decrepitude, and intellectual lassitude. I refuse to be sucked any deeper into this whirlpool of groupthink sewage. My opinions have been expressed. I'm going to go take a shower.

Take away Hue Hollins and the Bulls probably win that series. They had a good chance to make the Finals.
I don’t have this as close. Pippen was an MVP level player in ‘94. Was Reggie even a top 5 player at his peak?

Reggie has good cases for top 5 in the second half of the 90's imo. Specially years like 98 and 99 when players like jordan, barkley, hakeem declined

Re: Scottie pippen vs reggie miller better peak
Here's what I'd have as peak Reggie vs Scottie's lone Batman season & then his best Robin season from each three-peat for a few different peak Pippen options...
Reggie 93-94: 20.2 PER | .636 TS% | 121 TS+ | 11.7 WS | .212 WS/48
Reggie 93-94 Playoffs?!?: 21.9 PER | .581 TS% | 2.8 WS | .236 WS/48
Scottie 93-94: 23.2 PER | .544 TS% | 103 TS+ | 11.2 WS | .194 WS/48
Scottie 93-94 Playoffs?!?: 22.8 PER | .521 TS% | 1.2 WS | .149 WS/48
Scottie 91-92: 21.5 PER | .555 TS% | 104 TS+ | 12.7 WS | .192 WS/48
Scottie 91-92 Playoffs?!?: 20.1 PER | .541 TS% | 3.1 WS | .168 WS/48
Scottie 95-96: 21.0 PER | .551 TS% | 102 TS+ | 12.3 WS | .209 WS/48
Scottie 95-96 Playoffs?!?: 19.4 PER | .473 TS% | 3.0 WS | .195 WS/48
Obviously not a be all end all measure by any means, but Win Shares/48 thinks that peak Reggie's edge in efficiency and motion/gravity is larger than peak Scottie's edge in everything else.

Re: Scottie pippen vs reggie miller better peak
Miller is an offensive force, but his all around game doesn’t quite measure up to Pippen’s.
