The Mitchell trade is never a thing from the start. Riley and Ainge have too much ego to sit down and talk.

It's your own fault for falling into these Twitter videos of Bam and Mitchell playing together

Just more reason to step down, can’t deal with Klutch clients, can’t deal with certain GMs.

Might be time to step down

If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

Not the guy I want to be max extending. 20 millions a year is one thing but 30+ million a year will be a gross overpay

Yet RJ Barrett just got $30m from New York. Herro is a better player. The market is the market.

Yes and no. Yes that is the market for a player of his caliber but no I would not extend him for that much with his defensive liabilities and being that he may have already peaked as an NBA player from an offensive capability standpoint. Extending him puts a cap on the Jimmy era as just not good enough to get over the hump IMO. That said, if we trade Jimmy for a haul I wouldn't be opposed to extending Tyler for whatever

Apparently our offers for KD and Mitchell were even close and Riley wouldn’t increase his offer for Mitchell so what tf were we exactly holding out for if we weren’t willing to do what it took to get one of those guys?!

We were never getting Bradley Beal lmao

ICC said we had a deal in place until KD demanded out so you’ll have to take that up with him. He’s been right about everything else

RJ is in a different role than Herro and his physical tools are far greater. Who knows how they’ll turn out in the end

Extend and start herro

Trade Robinson, 2 1st rd picks for turner

Bam
Turner
Butler
Herro/Dipo
Lowry

That team can win the east in my opinion…we don’t need another star

I think the Uncan trade will come midseason, give him around 12 mins a night to hopefully restore some value and lower the price to offload him. Two firsts is pretty steep value for a player of Turner’s caliber.

Is it too late to hop on the over for Cavs wins? Pretty sure it opened at 42.5 or thereabouts, I'd expect it to be rise to at least 47.5 soon

Robinson, Yurt, and 2 1st for Turner would be our best bet. You get rid of Duncan’s contract and give Turner his deal in the 20’s. Mickey will have to pay tax next year until Lowry comes off the books the following.

So y’all didn’t want to give 3 1sts for Mitchell but want to give 2 for Turner?!

Big thing is herro isn’t involved

Unlike most, I think he has Zach Lavine/Devin booker potential and can easily score 23 ppg next year as a starter on good efficiency

I hope you’re right but if we’re going to send 2 1sts which will also eliminate us in any running for a star it needs to be a fringe all star level player in return. Like a collins for example. Unless we can also get another very solid player back with turner

Fair enough. Either way if we’re going to trade our only 2 current 1sts it needs to be for a better return than turner alone

Collins is fine too but I don’t think atl will trade him to us…I also think turner would be an amazing fit here due to his d, rebounding and ability to stretch

Our only chance for this imaginary star is waiting till next year using Lowry’s expiring. Nobody wants to get saddled with long term contracts unless the team really wants said player. Trading our 2023 and another future pick for Turner i’m fine with knowing our front court is locked up for years.

Did ole Danny Boy get fleeced? Cavs picks are '23, '25, '27 and assuming they retain their core guys and don't get destroyed by injuries, you're looking at zero lottery picks and potentially all 3 being somewhere in the 20s

iirc Miami could've removed protections to then offer '23, '27 and '29. With Jimmy and Lowry surely aging out by '27 you've got a Mitchell/Bam core in a post-Riley era which is pretty meh absent another significant piece

We have allegedly went all in on two stars that wanted to be here and our offers were emphatically rejected as not being close. The new market rate for star trades has gone up and honestly we cant afford them unfortunately. So the idea that when the next star want out, we have the assets to get something accomplished seem unlikely.
