Kind of wild to see Collins value so low that Barry thinks adding a 1st is questionable. Although he does have a point about $25M a year being a lot for a player that isn’t an all star. We’re already about to pay Herro that much to not be an all star.

If I had to rank those options in order:

Barnes
Collins
Turner
Bojan
Crowder

I think Collins being discussed to the Heat is just complete pipe dream stuff yet again. It's not going to happen

Going forward I’m just going to assume everything is a pipe dream and we’re just going to sit on our hands. Hell even Crowder is a pipe dream at this point

That trade looks good to me just To dump Duncan’s contract and add some size in Crowder.

Playing the 4 might also get him more open looks with a PF having to guard him more although they may switch a SF onto him with the PF guarding Butler. If you bring in a weaker defender at the 2 you probably need Martin's defense, if you bring in a stronger defender at the 2 you might opt for more offense. The one thing we do know is that Miami is paying Martin a small but decent amount for a few years so they may just envision him as their PF for the next couple of years.

Strus was actually taking reps at PF during the season and played about 2% Miami's minutes at PF while Martin played 13% of Miami's minutes at PF last season.

They had hoped Gallo would be able to eat some of Horford's minutes to keep him fresher for the playoffs. Of course injuries happen, it's why Toronto has a title and Boston made it past each round in the eastern conference playoffs.
