A couple of points highlighted by Kyle. One, the cap on interest at 5% is HUGE. Two, it also applies to graduate student loans. Nice.
I've been hard on Joe but I think the recent accomplishments are crucial when you tie them into (1) the republicans' support for the insurrectionists and the cover up (it's hurting republicans at the polls); (2) declining gas prices (was never Biden's fault to be begin with); (3) a leveling off of inflation with a possibility of deflating; and Dobbs (Supreme Court decision overruling Roe v. Wade). I'm thinking and hoping that we may pick up a couple of seats in the Senate, which would neuter Manchin and Sinema. I don't know about the House though there was a NY State special election for a congressional House seat that just flipped to a Democrat, which is a very good sign.
Never thought I’d see the day the Kyle Kulinski give Biden any kind of credit. The world is truly upside down. But you’re right that 5% cap is huge for student loan borrowers. I’m cautiously optimistic for the midterms
We progressives don't care who passes these policies; just pass the damn policies.
Here is a good in-depth analysis about what Biden has done on the student loan front. He was doing a lot, even before this announcement. Hopefully people realize this and vote accordingly. Both parties are not the same.
