Well, Lithuania out after group stage?

I told you Slovenia is overrated. Anyone who watched all of their games this summer could see that. Top 8 is their max this year unless Doncic goes God mode which is a very long shot at the moment.

Jonas was 1 point shy from tying Lithuanian NT all time single game scoring record, held to this day by former player and current Chicago Bulls president of basketball operations - Artūras Karnišovas.

I remember that Masiulis game in no.3 vs Team USA and LeBron, crazy.

By the way, did Sengun point a middle finger to the Georgian crowd during the whole double ejection debacle for Sanadze/Korkmaz? If yes, his survival instict is not very developed :D

I didn't watch the game, but looking at the boxscore, it looks like classic Luka. He keeps shooting from 3 even if it's not falling when he has other tools.

8/10 from 2
0/8 from 3

At some point, he has to be able to shift gear when 3s don't go in. His "1/10 from 3" type of games have been bothering me for many years.

He was frustrated and visibly tired most of the second half, Bosina's zone was really effective on him, and Tobi was bad and didn't give him the release valve on the P&R.

Vincent Collet? I carry him to Vilnius on my back if necessary ^^

Lekavicius really hurt them on defense today, but overall, coaching is ok, its just that none of our guards cant play pick and roll it seems. Jonas always been a god tier pick and roll center at FIBA level, when we look back how he used to score next to Jasikevicius or even Kalnietis, to today, basically every single stat today, he created himself. Guards can pass ball around like hot potato, but they can't pass it inside.

P.S. Nice to see you edited your signature, that lineup seems far better than what you had before

Actually I was too high on our prospects 3 years ago.
Now I would add Tarpey, but who gets out ...

Musa is perfect in Eurobasket. Because he can play the kind of defense which is illegal in the NBA.

It was more than that, his confidence left him. At the end, he wasnt creating anything, he was doing that dead possession step back 3, but he wasnt shooting, he step backed and passed it out to defended teammates twice, he was burning seconds, and he had few terrible drives were he just drove into defenses and turned it over. He had one great Bodiroga esque footwork shake in the paint where he cooked Nurkic, but everything else was just terrible for him, he was awful.

ANother OT, Georgia vs Turkey.

Sometimes I wonder if Collet's aim is to win a game with 30 TOs ...

McFadden taking some far-fetched shots for Georgia down the stretch. He did hit 2 of these 3s, though, so he earned the right to take these shots.

The Turkey-Georgia game is kind of bonkers.

And they did. Georgia beats Turkey 88-83 in 2nd OT.

Group A currently has 4 teams (Belgium, Montenegro, Spain, Turkey) all at 2-1. Georgia is at 1-2 and Bulgaria is at 0-3. I have no idea what is going to happen in this group anymoe. Belgium looks like the best bet to finish 1st right now (since they are the ones that beat Spain) but who knows? Georgia may even manage to sneak in and advance. They barely lost to Belgium after all.

As I said before, he took a ton of far-fetched shots. He shot 4/19 from 3 so that was definitely not a good shooting night. That said, he did hit two big 3s to send the game to 2nd OT and he did hit the FTs that iced the game. So, he definitely contributed to Georgia's win.

He hit those two, but it was such a fluke, one was straight up bank. Those were stupid shots, but luckily it went in. After that, I was dredding next Georgian possession because I knew he will do that again, and he did... and missed terribly.

Really reminded of earlier debate is Vazenkov an NBA player. It is testament how good of a player Vazenkov is, since that question is valid and no one could with no doubts say Vazenkov is NOT an NBA player. Because look at this guy McFadden, he just beat 4 NBA players, but by just looking at this, this guy is so not an NBA player, shot selection and IQ on offense is Shaqting a fool worthy. He lucked out, but my man is not a smart PG.

It's not like he was taking wide open shots either. He was taking tough, off-the-dribble contested shots. I agree that I was not a fan of his shot selection. But I guess that Georgia doesn't have a ton of options due to their injuries (their leader, Toko, is out and Goga got injured as well). Someone has to try and create. I do trust Mamu a lot more, obviously :D
