Dolan is up there for the worst owner of any franchise in any sport.

Here's a few your list is missing:
1. An owner who presided over a decade long sexual harassment scandal in his franchise in Dallas.
2. An owner who's openly been trying his best to sell the team in Minnesota only to find a deal that appears to not be complete because he failed to do due diligence to make sure the buyer had funds.
3. An owner in New Orleans who is alleged to have stolen the team away from rightful heirs.
4. An owner who named his arena after a pyramid scheme in Orlando.
5. An owner who bought and relocated a team from Seattle because the city won't build him an arena.
But hey.. Jeannie Buss!
At this stage I am more interested at how they manage their team in terms of basketball operations.
Sorry if the Jeannie reference triggered you so much, I didn't mean to hurt you.
Weak.

Re: Who is the worst owner of the NBA?
I have to go with James Dolan as worst NBA owner.
He's actually not a bad NHL owner (NY Rangers) because he takes a very hands off approach.
But for the Knicks, he intervenes a lot and has made many bad decisions that has effected the teams overall W-L. His stretch of President and GMs hires have been awful.

I voted Vivek, and think he is terrible but the Wizards fans have convinced me that Sarver or Leonsis are worse. Both obviously are in it for the money, as long as they sale enough tickets and jerseys that is all they care about. Neither cares about being a contender, and it sucks as fans when your owner is that way.

Sarver has been pretty despicable since he took over, but the fact is his team has reached the Finals and at least had a great regular season last year.
Vivek hasn't gotten 40 wins yet and hasn't come close to making the playoffs. Leonsis (with a much longer tenure than VIvek) has never gotten 50, but he does have 3 1st round wins.

the better question is how does the league still have so many bad owners?
you'd think it wouldn't be that difficult to find 30 people/groups who know how to run an organization effectively. at least 20% are just awful people and another at least 20% are just plain bad/incompetent.

Re: Who is the worst owner of the NBA?
I posted a variation of this before, but Leonsis is the WORST owner in the NBA. Here are the bullet points on why:
1). He's on the record as saying the team will NEVER tank.
2). He moved our beloved announcers from court-side to up in the rafters in order to sell more court-side seats.
3). He then (via his son) fired said beloved announcers for cheaper/crappier versions that no one likes (oh and now the former sideline reporter will be the new play-by-play guy. Worst commentary team from a professional standpoint in the NBA).
4). He doesn't care about winning a title. Local Radio has stated that the Wizards need home playoff games in order to turn a profit. That is all that matters to him.
5). He routinely sells 2nd round picks for cash (including the one that netted Jordan Clarkson for example).
6). He has only paid the luxury tax once. He traded a future 1st (that became Jarrett Allen) to dump Andrew Nicholson's god awful deal that was signed the previous summer! (Nicholson never played!). The reason that those Wizards teams never went anywhere was because there was no depth. Why was there no depth? Because Leonsis was too cheap to try and attain a championship level bench.
7). The organization had an all-in for KD FA push and they never even got a meeting! He's too dumb to realize that KD never wanted to come home to the worst organization in the NBA. After that, instead of going after a player who would have helped (like Eric Gordon was a FA to bolster the bench), they went after Ian Mahinimi (who NEVER played meaningful minutes after signed 4/64).
8). He NEVER answers tough questions from our inept local media (David Aldridge and Josh Robbins from the Athletic are at least tough sometimes). Hasn't given a tough interview in a decade at least.
9). He pointed to his e-gaming team as proof that he can run a successful team (at the Johnny Davis press conference (who is going to be a big time bust)).
10). Others have posted this on this thread, but when he finally fired Grunfeld (not for the inept moves, but because he didn't make the playoffs so he could make money), he said he was going to make a league-wide search. Massai & Tim Connoly (who is FROM DC) turned him down because he wouldn't stop meddling and reverse his idiotic going for the 1st round edict. So, he hired Grunfeld's #2 in Tommy Shephard (who I don't blame because no GM could win with Leonsis dictating never to tank and only win enough to get some home playoff games).

Full disclosure I voted for Leonsis. The Wizards are moribund for no damn reason. Guy just doesn't care.

Do we even know if that's true anymore? The Kings recently have been drafting very well.
I still can't get over the fact that they traded Haliburton to become a 30 win team. As bad as Dolan is I don't see him as bad as Vivek.

Trigger? There's a difference between something that unreasonably sets off someone that usually will not for a mentally/emotionally stable person, and, something that is just mentioned to garner or fish out opposing opinions on it, to slight the person.
Two persons having an argument with two polarized, opposing opinions is nothing triggering in there... to mention it and accuse the other of it is just a cop out , especially when you insincerely gift-wrap it in an apology. It's a thoughless and manipulative ploy when you don't want to admit you may have a wrong opinion. See it occasionally done at the office. Not very cool and sort of a weak move.
I apologize if my post sounded manipulative to you, my intention was to be transparently sarcastic and dismissive to a post that was unnecessarily fired up about all this.
You think that Jeannie is a good owner? Fine, whatever.
You're somehow outraged that he's included in that list after the dumpster fire the Lakers have have been with Pelinka, Magic, the Rambleys, Klutch... come on. The Lakers got gifted LeBron and Davis for no real merit of the organization, and they messed up literally every other move.
My prediction isq tht the Lakers will be the new Knicks, if something doesn't change at the top.
The brand won't save them forever.
uhmmmmmmmm

I voted Dolan but Vivek's case is pretty dang good. I kinda go with the longer you're there the worse I see you...but sometime to be said for just sucking that hard out the gate. And we have some other quality options.

It's this exact reason why I don't view Dolan as the worst.
Putting it simply, if Dolan actually found competent people to run the Knicks, he might have a hands off approach there too.
He's proven to have success in a sports team.
Dolan is bad, but for the reason below and above, he's not the worst.
The real answer to this is Vivek imo.
Yes, Sacramento is not NY, but when you actively try to make the playoffs over and over and fail for over a decade, it speaks to how bad it is.
The Kings can't even make the playin, they are basically Rob Babcock bad when he was running the Raptors.
The Kings being on the Knicks level is honestly a step up for them.
