One simple answer is so that training facility does not interfere with rodeos, Elton John, or whatever else the arena can be used for on non-game days.

Also, all the very high end physio equipment is best served outside of an arena, and that probably means the Magic has their own MRI now.

It will be intersting to see how many of these type of toys Orlando bought:

Some good pics of the training facility and a long interview with Weltman.

At the Blue Jays Complex in Dunedin we have one them. Really cool to see as we just opened our Player Development Complex almost 2 years ago and some of the advancements in tech ALREADY is wild.

This facility could be a great recruiting tool for the best & brightest training staff…it’s mentioned as a recruiting tool for players, but that’s kind of a stretch unless you’re a cerebral, Grant Hill type with a frustrating injury history. PHO’s legendary training staff was a big part of his move AWAY from the s**tshow in ORL…and he did give them a few good years (amazing considering his history- read his bio). Agents will definitely take notice - they want to get as many years out of their guys too.

Having their own MRI is pretty absurd, but if we become renowned for salvage successes, we could really become a destination for for low-cost, high upside vet bets…all while our young core comes together. I’d love to add a guy like Hayward for peanuts and get a couple of solid seasons out of him as a sixth or seventh man (just an example).

I was hoping they'd show off some of the new special areas named in honour of Orlando greats, but so far nothing.

The Timofey Mosgov Lounge
The Jonathan Isaac Library
The Anfernee Hardaway Foot Spa
The Doc Rivers Family Welcome Center

We as fans have a right to see this stuff. Shame on you Orlando!!

Mozgov officially came off the books this Summer. Orlando paid him 27 million dollars over three years to not-play in 227 games.

What a country!

Sasser Spa & Fitness located inside the new Advent Health Training Center.

I'm also happy they added the Greg Kite Center for Mental Health on the far north side of the facility.
