Bonzi Wells called a white player a cracker once and soft ass white boy, I don't remember being suspended, he was suspended for spitting on Danny Ferry.
It's a different political and social environment, but athletes in the heat of the game, with barely enough oxygen to supply their brain, taking physical beating shouldn't be judged for mouthing a slur IMO, it's natural and expected.

Yep! It''s a bit frustrating on here to debate it but it is what it is. I think everybody can agree on that the best way to avoid any sort of incident is to not even invoke any sort of racial component in trash talk or how you interact with anybody in general, that's obvious. But how hard is it for people to recognize why certain things are more sensitive and hold more weight culturally, ethnically, nationally in every country?People may pretend to feign ignorance of what words mean, but at the same time, would never utter these words they're saying hold equal water in terms of connotation, so I think deep down people really know what it is.

Lol trying to have a nuanced discussion about race with your typical realgmer is like trying to explain physics to a goldfish. When it comes to race there’s always an inherent entitlement that won’t let them admit that sometimes the context of saying something is worse depending on the race of the people involved in the interaction.

B*tch ass white boy is barely racist. I would take offense to the "*b*tch ass" and "boy" part but not "white".

Same reason Senators from one party want to ban CRT bury it in the sand like nothing happen shameless the whole lot, and anyone agreeing with that BS

This isn’t true for most. I spent many years in education before I retired and have seen just about everything when it comes to teaching racial and ethnic issues. I have met far too many misinformed people that believe blacks can’t be racist, white people are the cause of slavery, Jews are the greatest evil in the world, slavery wasn’t that bad (WTF!!!), blah blah blah. CRT has been around since the early 1980’s, and the intellectual strengths and weaknesses have been noted. Too many people ignore the dangers of not exploring the issues from multiple perspectives and a holistic historical view based in historical fact. Too many people want to push an agenda, facts be damned. I even didn’t want to post this, as this topic goes far beyond the OP, and is best discussed in a different forum or in PM’s.

It implies that white people are inherently already leaning towards being a bitch and thus we need to point out you're a bitch for even a white boy. Not sure if that would upset most people, but it certainly has an additional layer of insult.

Small pat on the back and small fine. That's about it.

It would of been a suspension if it was the other way around. And they would be cancelled.

True sadly.

In the Harrell incident, it only implies that Doncic specifically is a b*tch on the basketball court and that it may have something to do with him being white. It's a little bit racist but not some kind of statement on white people in general.

I think it's self-explanatory in the wider scope of things.

To humor you though, at least basketball wise, it's intended as a dismissal of white people being worse basketball players. Is there a racial element to it? Sure, but it's more multi-faceted in terms of what it can apply to. I'll give you a literal Larry Bird quote: "As far as playing, I didn't care who guarded me -- red, yellow, black. I just didn't want a white guy guarding me. Because it's disrespect to my game."

It's widely considered a dismissal of skills rather than it being racial. Would you be mad if you were at a park and someone said, "Damn, that white boy can hoop!" - probably not.

A white person calling a black player "bitch ass black boy" has no real basketball connotation to it at all - and "boy" as a term was very much used negatively for much of the history of America.

You are literally describing racist take someone would have...

So Larry Bird is basically a racist?

Nah, I don't think you can be racist against your own race right? Otherwise there would be a bigger deal made about black players calling each other the N word since it's a racist word?
