Jokic - was voted for MVP 2 years in the row because voters could not find any excuse to not vote for him. And if they could majority of them wouldn't vote for him. That is how dominant he was last 2 years. Historically great.

There was a clear top-3 last season and all are roughly in the mid-career stage where you don't expect big improvement or decline. I don't quite trust Embiid's health which drops him to 3rd. I expect some mild regression from Jokic's crazy shooting numbers from last season, which leaves Giannis at #1.

Nominate: Tatum

I had him as the #6 player overall last season and he's young enough to still improve a bit. Should easily be in the poll. So should Jimmy Butler but for next year I have Tatum a bit higher.

Yeah, Jokic is not the flashiest or most popular player, and he won the most recent one with Giannis and Embiid having absolutely absurd seasons.

It's amazing the nuggets managed to win as many games as they did. Jokic is my pick with Giannis a hair behind him.

Some extremely mistaken results (for individual players) in past seasons. Everyone seems to assume that what happened the previous year will happen again the following year, and it rarely does.

Brag time: I had Giannis, Jokic, and Steph as my top three before last season (the poll had them 1st, 6th, and 5th, respectively). You can argue the specifics, but that looks pretty good in retrospect. We'll see if I'm lucky again this year...

The only way it changes is if Giannis starts shooting better. If Giannis shoots 80% from the line. He's wasn't that far off, his TS would be crazy good at that point. If he could somehow start knocking down 3's at a league average rate...yikes
