Dariq Whitehead
Derrick Lively
Amari Bailey
Emoni Batess

Does anyone have some sleepers they think might shoot up some draft boards?

Adem Bona. I think he's top 5 if not higher. Just a different animal altogether. One of the most ferocious and explosive bigs I've ever seen. Zion but 6'10" with a 7'4" wingspan. Very high BBIQ and passer too. Not just power either. Fluid. It's laughable that he's almost an afterthought by "scouts". Reminds me how they didn't know about Trae Young. Can't shoot or at least, hasn't, but he's not going to need to to make a huge impact at the next level.

watch a minute in, after the block, how fast he gets down the court. It's unreal!

You heard it here first!!

Went to OTE vs Overtime in Atlanta this weekend. Amen Thompson really got to get his shot together to go top 10.

Was really impressed with Tyler Smith. C/O 2023. Shot the ball well. Great build for the 17 year old. Someone to keep an eye on.

Well there goes any question if there was going to be a dip after K leaves for Duke and if Scheyer really was the best recruiter in college ball or if it was still because of K.

Easily the #1 class next year and just landed their 4th top 5 star and 5th top 30 player of the 2023 class. Just landed Mgbako who looks damn good.

Speaking of Duke, can someone give some insight into Tyrese Proctor? I'm very interested in him as he's an Australian.

What is Jon Scheyer selling these kids? Dark pool NIL pool funded by Nike? Deep pocket Duke alum? Duke athletics?

Within last 12 months: Scheyer has pulled in 9x 5 star recruits. This level of recruiting is crazy.

2022: Kyle Filipowski, Dereck Lively, Mark Mitchell, and Dariq Whitehead

2023: Caleb Foster, Jared McCain, Mackenzie Mgbako, Tyrese Proctor, and Sean Stewart

Ever since Scheyer started on the recruiting trail for Duke, Duke's recruitment took a huge step. He's been called the best recruiter for awhile in college basketball now. I dont know what it is, but from basically from day 1 that guy has been pulling in elite recruits. I think many were somewhat hesitant and thinking that it was still the K shadow that allowed him to get these guys (K hasnt really done much recruiting for awhile now). But ya no slow down at all since the announcement of K leaving.

Honestly wont take much from Scheyer from a coaching perspective to at least keep up what Duke has been doing the last 5-6 years. But if Scheyer comes in and can actually be a coach, with the kind of talent he is brining in, he could do some real damage. Because ya he is going to have the talent advantage over 99% of college schools.

Tyres didn't get much of the ball playing alongside Montero in the Hoop Summit.

Best to watch his Global Academy/NSW stuff.

If Roach leaves, there might be a slight chance that Proctor reclassifies. As of right now its not expected, but something that may come up.

Agreed. I really see no downfall to a reclass for a guy like Proctor. Really the only negative scenario I can think for it is he reclassifies and struggles really bad and that just crushes his confidence and he cant regroup after that. But we would be talking about a whole laundry list of red flags (speaking from a NBA prospect perspective) if that was the scenario.

But ya most likely scenario would be Roach reclassifies and Proctor gets 15-18 minutes per game off the bench and builds up some college experience and gets to train at a world class facility for the year.

While a best case scenario is the dude just lights it up and plays himself into next year's draft.

But ya with all that said, dont see him reclassifying. But just throwing it out there as an option on something that might happen.

I thought I would give this thing a little bumparoo since we have the 2023 draft class thread started up. With GG reclassifying and still a chance Matas does as well. I feel like not the strongest looking class. I think the classes after have the players that people are more intrigued about (Naas Cunningham, Boozer bros, Cooper Flag, and so on).

One guy Im looking at with this class who isnt considered an elite prospect is TJ Power. 6'8 and probably the best shooter in the class. My favorite thing about him is how well he moves off the ball and how he already is such a great shooter in the JJ/Korver mode of being able to catch a pass then put up a clean shot right away and be damn good in that scenario, no need to have to have set feet to get a clean shot. At his size and with those two skills already pretty advanced for his age, I think he is going to be a guy that is going to carve out a nice NBA career. Not saying he is going to be a top 5 pick or anything like that, the dude isnt even a top 50 recruit (big momentum his way though with all the power house schools starting to offer him). But can see him being in college for 2-3 years and just being a solid NBA guy with his skill set.

Naas sounds like the next prize after Wemby in a couple of years but it's still super early, and I'm sure a couple of guys will reclass into the 24 class...we always get a couple of reclasses every year

Ya Naas is the next GUY. To me he is Emoni Bates if Bates had NBA level athleticism and length.

Cooper Flagg isn't eligible until 2025.

Ya the 2025 recruiting class could end up being pretty insane for Duke. #1 player is Cameron Boozer, Carlos son who just happens to be named after Cameron Indoor. Flagg is the #3 ranked guy and his dream school is Duke and his two favorite players are Jayson Tatum and Grayson Allen... You also have the other Boozer kid who is a lower ranked 5 star.

I know there is a lot of hype growing for Flagg, but I wont lie. A part of me when I watch him sees a better chance he ends up being TJ Leaf 2.0 more than anything else.

Just wanted to bump this. TJ Power got bumped up to a 5 star and Scheyer continues his ridiculous recruiting stretch and he just committed to Duke.

Since Scheyer started recruiting, he has had one of the better recruiting stretches I can remember. These are the guys he has landed as the primary recruiter (started recruiting during the 2015 class)

21 5 star recruits (including TJ Power)
5 4 star recruits (Proctor was a 5 star until he reclassified)

This to me is early 2010s Cal at UK level of recruiting. Scheyer is pretty much at the point at the moment where if he really wants a guy, you can pretty much pencil him down as a Duke commit. At the moment Duke has 5 guys in the top 25 for the 2023 class, Duke has never done that before.
