If you want to understand how to build/rebuild a team -- & to learn in the process just how inept the Wizards are at it -- this article about Danny Ainge is a good place to start:

It's so frustrating to read this, it's something the Wizards (with a worse roster than the Jazz!) should have done with Beal while he was under a cheaper contract. We have yet to reach 36 wins in a season in the Beal led era.

Re: Discussing Other Teams' Moves - Part 8
Yes, I was just thinking that the Mitchell trade probably gives us a pretty good idea of what we could have gotten for Bradley Beal last off season, since I'd say that he & Mitchell are roughly comparable players.
What was that again... 3 R1 picks, the guy taken #14 in the '22 draft, 2 pick swaps & Collin Sexton in a sign and trade.
if I'd been doing it, I'd have looked for another team to take Sexton -- in return for even more picks.
Road not taken....

Nivek (iykyk) had a decent article up on BF a few days ago on this very topic.
I’d say you live and learn but the Wizards never learn.

LOL Induveca. Barelyawake and I called him Mr Susan because he used his wife's login name on the ESPN boards. I migrated here from there. But I do not miss hands11 's interminable line-up recitations and spamming the board (even more than me the past few days).
Ed Wood though. And the dude who posted from asia, I forget his name. And Wermol from Estonia.

I seem to remember he mentioned working on a novel.... Has it been published? Or anything other fiction of his?
Ok... I did the looking myself; it hasn't appeared, but maybe it will one day soon.

Here's Kevin's article pointing out the relevance to us (our ineptitude) of what Danny Ainge is doing in Utah -- in particular the Donovan Mitchell trade -- https://www.bulletsforever.com/2022/9/7/23340874/what-the-donovan-mitchell-trade-reveals-about-the-wizards

Asia guy--you mean pineappleheadindc? or whatever his name was? memory's getting hazy...
hands11 is very prolific on BF if you feel like subjecting yourself to him. he still posts exactly the same.
Speaking of missing people, damn I miss WizDynasty. That guy was insane.

Wasn't Wizdynasty with us in the draft run up this year? Or last year...?
Definitely miss a lot of those guys. I don't think the discussion threads on bulletsforever are very interesting, do you? Now... I haven't looked in a while.

WizD is the guy who comments on kevin seraphin's tree trunk legs and so and so player's lack of hip mobility. He's like some sort of crack head doctor.
No, BF is pretty bad. Why I'm grateful for this place. I just wish Broom still posted here.

Oh for sure. But he has ambitions to be a public voice of some kind about the Wizards -- & he's perfectly capable of it too! -- & that desire isn't helped by posting on a discussion board.
To do what he wants to do, he needs a platform like BF where he can write articles that can get some distribution (at least via their URLs), & he needs to exploit other kinds of platforms & tools -- podcasts, twitter, etc.
Hope he gets where he wants to go. All the same, his participation here was valued, & it would be great to have him back!

You see Schroder got signed for 2M a year?
Any thoughts?

That is, essentially, a veteran minimum contract. Which is what I think he's worth.
But not to us. I don't mean to us. He was worth nothing to us.
We have a complete 15-player roster. No room. But, even if we did have a roster spot, & even if we wanted a 3d PG for that 15th spot, Schroder wouldn't be the right guy. We are a bad team, & we don't have enough young players. We'd want someone at the end of the roster who might conceivably develop.

Are we sure that WizDynasty isn't Dr. Oz?
