if you're a tier 2-3 guy getting overpaid for supermax money I don't see any sacrifice, to be honest.

Good to hear, still that sounds like the bare minimum.
What sacrifice did Beal make for the franchise?

Joe Tsai deserves some love in this thread. Maybe not the worst yet, but getting there...

Though obviously an upgrade from Prokhorov

Only one of those choices has never made the playoffs.

How can you be in the lottery year after year and never make the playoffs?

That takes true incompetence. Bagley over Luka, McLemore over McCollum, Giannis, and Gobert, Stauskas over Lavine and Jokic, Cauley-Stein over Booker, Papagiannis over Siakam, ect.

During draft night as the Kings were in the war room, as they were on the clock Vivek came in and said, “I’m so excited. Who do you guys like? I like McLemore. I think we should take him.”

I guess the Fox pick was good, and so was Halliburton, but then they trade him for Sabonis, who I like, but if Fox and Sabonis are your 2 best players where are you going? The Kings will probably finish the year as the 11th seed in the West, not make the play in and not getting a top 5 pick.

And why is everyone’s names capitalized except for
MJ?

This is actually a pretty close race considering some of the names out there. The owner of my team would be on the poll in Donnie Nelson hadn't selected Dirk before he bought the team and hadn't begged them to pick Luka after he was overruled on picking Giannis

Tillman Ferrita should be on this poll.

It's not your money, why do you care? It was enough for the Wizards ownership to offer and that's all that really matters.

I remember when Michael Jordan pursued and made an offer to purchase the Milwaukee Bucks. At the time, I felt like Milwaukee would forever be doomed, if Jordan ended up becoming the owner. People basically knew what to expect from Jordan as an owner even before he became one.

Doing the bare minimum is profit as an owner. He purchased the Charlotte Bobcats for $175 million and now they're worth $1.57 billion.

I would have said Dolan a few years ago but I've come around to the Leonsis argument. This summer sealed it. Not even trying to be more than a treadmill team is worse than just being incompetent.

More like poorest owner.
Brian Geltzeiler: You see Mark Jackson getting a head coaching job as early as next year?

Adrian Wojnarowski: Not if people make calls on him. Not if an organization is doing their homework and knows all the things he brings with him.

There's quite a few of really bad owners. Those sort of owners don't care about winning and usually care more about big names over substance or putting a good product on the basketball court. Those owners also have no problem with severely overpaying for players, which hurt the team's flexibility for years. Some of these owner are also very cheap and do anything to cut corner. Even if that means building bad rosters as a result. There's quite a few candidates here.

Worst is Dolan, a big market and can’t attract any decent free agents. Gilbert and Buss are in the top five.

I think Sarver is getting a pass because the team is good. He could be the only owner who cost his team a championship by being cheap which to me is the worst attribute an owner can have.

I think a guy who interferes in the baskeball decisions and keeps hiring either yes men or con men selling him the Brooklyn Bridge is worse.
The NBA is built in a way you can compete with a payroll just below the luxury tax level, good management is going to win against brute spending power.

There's a lot of competition for the worst but I would say Dolan since the Knicks play in the most glamorous city in the most famous arena in the world but have been a punchline for franchise mismanagement the last 20 years. They should have stars lining up to play there and they don't, says a lot.

Cant be the worst if they are the most valuable franchise.

I think Owners who constantly meddle in the GM's ability to build a Team are the worst. I wouldve said Jordan years ago, but I think its Ranadive now. Second is Sarver, I cant explain why for so many years they sold many Draft Picks for Cash, and other cost saving moves. This hinders the GM's ability to build a Team. Dolan has been hands off for the last couple of years. I think Leonsis doesent get enough blame for the Wizards being terrible, but he hasent meddled as much. So my Top 3 would be:
1. Ranadive (Kings)
2. Sarver (Suns)
3. Leonsis (Wizards)
