Game 1: Packers at Vikings - 3:25 - Fox

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Sun Sep 11, 2022 5:35 am

After last year's game 1 debacle who knows how we start. I don't expect to be blown out but a loss will be no surprise.

Anxious to see the defense.

Anxious to see the 2 rookie receivers.

Anxious to see if Crosby can bounce back from a bad year at age 38.

Anxious to see if we can at least have average special teams.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Bahktiari, Jenkins, Lazard all out per Tom Pelissero
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

31-20 Vikings but ultimately I think we still win the division. This is their super bowl and we are missing both OTs. Their weapons are elite and our D will be gassed in the second quarter as Packers basically didn’t practice with intensity or play this preseason ergo they aren’t in game shape. Not a good combo.

Regarding WRs I’m actually excited Lazard is out so Rodgers can’t focus on him as we know what he is and now we can give more opportunities to the younger guys. Hopefully they step up. If Doubs or Watson have a huge game Lazard will be going back to the same role he’s always had.

I am a little surprised one of the RB weren't called up. Makes me think they do plan on giving Amari a 3rd down back role on this team, which I am pretty interested in seeing.

Gaym Dae and it feels good.

Hoping we see heavy running and a lot of play action.

Hoping we see the defense that I think we are going to have this year unleashed and dominating.

I am also prepared to have to wait until next week to hope again. Not a huge fan of starters just taking all preseason off but I get why they do it.

Can't wait to see the Pack's big off-season WR acquisitions in action with no Lazard today.

Vikes CBs are well below average as Patrick Peterson is past his prime, Cam Dantzler sucks, and the nickel back is none other than former Packer (and target of opposing QBs) Chandon Sullivan. Oh and Minny is starting a new guy at Safety in Cam Bynum who was not supposed to be the starter but their #1 pick has been so bad that they are going with Bynum.

Time for Gutey's shiny new Watkins, Watson, and Doubs toys to shine.

Silver lining - the Vikes secondary is so bad it may give our young guys some early confidence if they perform well.

I'm so ready to read the hot takes later today. It's going to be great.

Ironically, I am pegging Cobb to score two TDs in this one. He'll have a 8 catch 77 yards and 2 TD stat line and this is all but confirmed because I am not starting him in fantasy football. So lock it in.

Are we the only team that doesn't play starters in the preseason?? I find that hard to believe.

No I think most teams don't now. Almost certain I heard during the Rams Bills game the Rams players didn't play in preseason.

We're now the 1/1.5 point underdogs.

Vegas finally figured out that Bahk, Jenkins, aren't playing today - and at mid-season form to boot? Lazard too.

Amari's WR days are over. Who are you gonna take snaps away from to let him stumble around and get zero separation ??

I'm hoping we see more creativity with motion and 2 RB sets this year compared to last season.

Our first game performances usually suck. That plus our injuries, I think Packers get handled today.
