Re: State of Cowboys Union?
I'm seeing Cam Newton's name coming up.
I mean the season is lost in my eyes, but might be interesting to bring in Cam for a season just to see what happens.

I think Cooper was more important to our offense than most Cowboy fans realized, that guy is an elite route runner.
I guess with Gallup we could make up for it MAYBE but we have to come to the realization that Gallup is very injury prone and wil never play an entire season.
Outside of Lamb there are no WRs on this team that even belong in the NFL. It's just putrid.
WILL FULLER IS A SPEED THREAT. A DEEP THREAT. SIGN HIM NOW!!!
Honestly what has Lamb ever done to make anyone think he should be a #1 WR?

I really like Lamb and definitely think he is a #1 in this league. He was a top tier elite prospect that should not have fallen to the #17 pick. As far as what he has done I think his stats for last season are very impressive considering he was the #2 WR behind Cooper.
Regardless if you are going to draft a WR at #17 you have to give that person a shot at being the guy. This was going to be his first season to prove he is what we thought he was.

They won’t bring Cam in. There’s no need. Just stick with Cooper Rush, and stick with Tyler Smith at LT. Tank the season and allow Sean Payton to start next season with a high draft pick and loads of cap space.

How do the Cowboys clone Micah Parsons?
Easy. Tank. Get the #1 pick. Grab Will Anderson. Then you'll have two Micah Parsons. Win/Win.

That’s also another option.

I'd love this if the Sean Peyton thing is a reality. It just needs to be the reality.
Bringing Cam in is still tanking the season, I don't think any QB available out there can save it. ANd we have to at least bring 1 more in or Cooper has no back up.

Re: State of Cowboys Union?
What sucks is that if the season is lost and we need to tank then Dallas would actually benefit from Parsons having a bad year or a minor injury. That guy is going to command QB money and it might be out of Dallas' range to retain him.

Yea that’s true. Yea if he’s willing to play for the minimum they may look to bring him in. If they do it’s going to be pretty funny to watch the fan base split in two when Cam has a good game.

No weapons other than Lamb.
No QB can overcome that, just look at Rodgers yesterday. He's going to have the worst season of his career but it won't be because of him.
Only QB types that can possibly overcome that are elite runner types like Kyler. Mike Vick types who just do everything on their legs.

Yea but if you watched the game you could clearly see that the problem wasn’t all that he doesn’t have any other weapons. His passes were all over the place and he probably should have had about 5 int’s that were all dropped.

The QB has to force it when no one can get open, Rodgers threw an INT too. Its that or they take a sack.
Granted Dak made some bad decisions and his one INT was on him, I'm not trying to say he is blame free, just saying if there is no one to throw too then your options are very limited.
I feel like we've seen enough of Dak to know what he is. He's not elite but he is "above average". I'd say right around #10 overall. We've seen QBs worse than him win a ring. He's not Brady or Mahomes calibre but he's good enough to get there.
I also think that finding an elite QB is very very very very difficult in the NFL. If we ditch Dak and start drafting QBs we could be doing that for a decade before we find one.

Trevor Lawrence was supposed to be a cant miss Luck type and he looks average to me.

In fact now that I think about it Stafford is a perfect example. Dak is basically on Stafford's level. Now we just have to put a Ram's roster around him.
The Lions couldn't do it for Stafford. And everyone thought he was "average" there.
Stafford didn't suddenly get better at playing QB, his teammates suddenly got better.

I was going to compare Dak to Stafford in the other thread…agreed. Dak is still also young and his game will age well. I don’t think your problem is dak at all

Dak is just as much a problem as the other areas of the team.

So where do you rank Dak in terms of starting NFL QBs and how many starting QBs do you believe can win a SB?

Re: State of Cowboys Union?
Not sure how many QB's can win for sure. Some QB's good enough to win a Super Bowl but not on the team they are currently on due to the system and scheme.

I think there are maybe 6 QB's good enough to win a Super Bowl.

Nick Foles won a Super Bowl.
So definitely more than 6
