Would rather trade his contract now for some WR depth than deal with losing Dillon, who is already better than him, in FA. Dillon is going to be the Ron Dayne of the NFL for the next 5 years.

Ron Dayne averaged 3.8 yards a carry and never got more than 773 yards in a season. I have to assume you're trolling.

(College version)

If you think Dillon is better than Jones, I have to ask: Do you even watch the games?

I'm not talking about last season, where their production was pretty much identical. I'm talking about this season and beyond.

Do you? I don't care either way but, holding the opinion that Dillon is better is hardly controversial. Jones has more mileage, and Dillon was close last year.

Sneaking in to this conversation here. Man, I love the pairing of the two, can't wait. But yeah, if I had to pick one going forward it is Quadzilla. I am a little worried Jones is losing some of that long speed.

Jones is a RB and turns 28 this season. For that reason alone, we should probably move on to Dillon.

Jones cap hit this year is $5.9 million, next year it's $20 million. He'll be cut ($9.58 million dead cap) or restructured.

Dillon has one more year at a $1.68 million cap hit in 2023 before his new deal will kick in (I'm assuming he'll get another deal here). I could see them trying to redo Jones for 2023 and then cut bait once Dillon's new deal starts in 2024.

Having 2 quality running backs is not really a luxury with the long season but one of them needs to be on a rookie deal, can't pay big money to both.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

He might actually do a little time for this.

From Jeff pearlman who wrote a biography on him. (His football for a buck book is great BTW)

I usually don't care at all about players off the field. Rodgers has a thousand quirks, who cares.

Favre was one of my all time favorites. He and Reggie revived the franchise. And he's a real POS. I hope he gets nailed for this.

Favre took too many hits to the head. He’s not all there. No idea why he craves every dime on the table so badly. He should be worth $100 million plus.

Stories of Favre being a truly awful POS have been around since before he was a starter in GB. This is who he's always been.

Wasn't expecting from an embezzlement standpoint though. Wild.

My Favre love was at one point akin to my current Giannis love. Probably more so as I grew up with him.

I hope he rots in prison. He won’t.

People in his position don’t get held accountable.

I haven't seen people talk about it much, but Barnes is pretty big loss on ST. He's one of their best coverage guys, and they don't really have anyone to replace his body type who isn't already on ST. Enagbare maybe? I guess we'll see tonight.

Pete Dougherty's speculation on how long Rogers continues to play:
https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/nfl/packers/dougherty/2022/09/23/how-long-aaron-rodgers-lead-packers-heres-one-prediction/8076514001/ (via Packer News through MJS

Some of the highlights from the article:
GREEN BAY – Here’s a prediction about Aaron Rodgers: He’ll be the Green Bay Packers’ quarterback through 2024.

He’s in fact professed to at least considering retirement each of the past two years. (Count me skeptical he’d have ever followed through).

No matter, Rodgers turns 39 in December. If he plays this year plus two more, he’ll have accomplished one of his oft-stated goals, that is, playing into his early 40s. There’s also not much indication he desires to grind on for any longer than that, even if his body (and NFL rules protecting quarterbacks) might allow him to.

.......................
So why predict he’ll play three more years?
Aaron Rodgers signed a lucrative contract last March

A couple of reasons, starting with the contract he signed with the Packers last March. It has all the looks of a three-year deal even though it runs through 2026.

The first three years, for instance, have huge bonuses: $40.8 million this year, $58.3 million in ’23 and $47 million in ’24. Then the final two years are simply salary-cap fillers, worth only $20.9 million and $15.05 million.
.....................

It’s hard to see Rodgers setting up that contract structure and then walking away from that kind of cash. That’s an enormous amount of money for a guy who could use it for what figures to be big post-football ambitions.
.....................
Now to be sure, this is all reading tea leaves, and NFL careers are always fluid anyway. Plans, intentions and hopes can change quickly.

A major injury could make Rodgers’ decision for him. And what if the Packers win the Super Bowl this season or next? Maybe Rodgers would find it more attractive to walk away on top then try to defend the title, regardless of the money.
.................
But Rodgers also will have plenty incentive to play with the Packers a couple more years. For one, he’s gained a greater voice in football decisions. More importantly, there’s young talent on his side of the ball.
.........
So it’s no surprise to hear Rodgers proclaim he won’t be lacing them up when he’s Brady’s age. But for all the game takes, it can reward in kind as well. That’s why I’m predicting Aaron Rodgers plays this plus two more years.
