Brett Favre
Anyone see this? What a horrible person he is. He’s accused of helping to divert $5m in public funds which were earmarked for welfare to Southern Miss to build a volleyball stadium (his daughter played volleyball there)
This is in addition to the public speaking scandal, his abuse of drugs and the fact he sent nudes to a Jets reporter.

I haven’t figured out this scandal yet. Obviously Favre can’t take this money without help, and why would anyone think this is a good idea?

Re: Brett Favre
And in addition to all that awful stuff he is also one of the most overrated QBs to play the game who's signature move was to throw the ball deep into traffic and just gamble that the WR is the one who comes up with it.
Just thought I'd remind everyone.

If u can't build it yourself with your own money. Your creating more problems with a broke state, and a broke Mississippi infrastructure.

Thing is he had pretty good luck with that.

Did he though?
336 interceptions over 20 seasons, most in NFL history by a long shot.
#2 is George Blanda with 277 who played 26 seasons covering the 50s and 60s.

He got the help from the former governor and an attorney. But he was most def complicit to use that towards personal gain. Idk I can’t stand people like that

Re: Brett Favre
It was a Federal Fund. Given to serve the poorest individuals in the poorest state in the country. The State then denied tons of claims from access to this money, stating with bogus excuses and eligibility road blocks.
The result? The state with the highest poverty rate in the nation, with 300 Million residents. ONLY 200 ADULTS RECEIVED WELFARE BENEFITS.
During these economic times, this is a shame
Total money given to State? $77 Million.

Only 200 people in Mississippi received Federal Welfare Dollars?? Mississippi in and of itself is a known Welfare State. For only 200, is egregious

Brett Favre Steals Welfare Money From Mississippi
Just wanted to put this man on blast for being such a creep again. He showed us (and really showed the ex cheerleader) who he was, he showed us who he was with the shut and play comment, and now stealing welfare money from those in need. Believe him.

Read the article just posted in the last post. Sounds like the main culprit is the previous Governor, Bryant, who gave a big grant a non profit led by his wife's friend. Her and her friend have pled guilty. That non profit gave out the grants for the volleyball center, etc (you see that if you follow the trail of articles linked).
If you keep reading in link in the last post, that Welfare director also sounds like a scumbag, giving money/contracts to family members and other sports stars, wrestlers, etc.
These people belong in prison.
It's bad enough to steal, but to steal taxpayer money earmarked for people who's lives are dependent on that money?

Re: Brett Favre
What makes this worse is he stole from the poorest of the poor. I don't get this, you made $130-$140+ million in your career and whatever you got from your endorsements to me this makes him a skeezeball. If I was the NFL I would distance myself from Brett Favre right now
