Aaron Judge Doesn\'t Rule Out Signing With Red Sox

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Sep 15, 2022 12:19 pm

Aaron Judge will hit free agency after his historic season after he and the New York Yankees were unable to reach a contract extension.

Judge has already hit 57 home runs this season with the American League record of 61 within his reach.

He hit two home runs at Fenway Park on Tuesday night and was asked about the possibility of signing with the rival Boston Red Sox this coming offseason.

\"Ooh,\" Judge replied with a smile. \"We\'ll talk about that at the end of the year.\"

\"It\'s the best, they\'re some of the best in baseball. They\'re going to boo you, they\'re going to say some things, they\'re going to make you laugh,\" Judge said of the Boston fans. \"It\'s all part of it. A lot of great history here, and this is one of the best places to play, so it\'s always fun going out there and trying to put on a show for them.\"

The only way he isn't a Yankee is if he decides he simply doesn't want to play there anymore. They won't let another team outbid them for him.

Signing this guy is risky business. He's unlikely to ever replicate this incredible season. And if you give him 8+ years, this could be Pujols to the Angels all over again.

The day he decides he made his money and the PEDs aint worth it anymore, is the day that contract becomes an albatross.

Lots of risk to take when they actually drug test nowadays. Yes I guess they have ways of beating the system but he’s but 50 HR’s twice now. And at some point if he was cheat he would get caught. And ya get caught 3x you’re out. And getting caught will definitely cause issues for a contract today. He’s having a great year. I think to say he’s only doing that because he’s a cheat is ridiculous. Will he live up to an eight year deal? Probably not but his body is a bit different than Pujols. NYY offered him $200M. Last post said if wants to be here NYY won’t let them get out bid. I disagree. They have a figure that they will not exceed. Judge is going to break $300M-$350M. I think NYY played this one wrong. If they had offered $275M in the spring it may have gotten closer to a deal but it sounded like he wanted over $300M then as well. What does cashman value him now after this amazing year?
