Watching his passing and cutting highlights gives me true sports joy.

Watching his defence is just as exciting.

This guys hips are so fluid for a player of his size. His hands are incredibly active and the work ethic is such that he's rarely ever out of the play, even if he's late around the screen or a step behind.

He uses those long levers to great effect in poking out the ball from behind or blocking on the weakside.

Watching defensive clips of his I'm actually coming around to the idea that he could defend the two for long periods in games, if the matchup required. You could potentially play Wagner, Paolo, JI, Carter all at the same time and trust that Franz can stay in front of most SGs. It's at the least a wrinkle for Mose to have ready.

If Paolo can be what we hope he can, we could have this amazing duo where Franz defers on offence a tad but takes the lead on defence whereby Paolo just has to be average.

Paolo's one on one defense is actually pretty darn good to great.... but he gets horse blinded and becomes less aware of what's going on around him... so his team defense is less to be desired. If they can get that on point over the next year... that would be awesome!

Agreed with franz at the 2. I've thought about that lineup since we drafted paolo and thought the same... as i've watched franz rise to the occasion and did admirably to great on pretty much every player at some point. SO i hope it's toyed with. That lineup with fultz ... might be one of the better skilled two young teams in the NBA.

Great vid. The anticipation skills and the vision really stand out. So many of his successful drives to the basket work out because he's anticipating and making forward effort off the ball to receive it on the move and therefore mitigate his athleticism. He's already a step in front because he prepared for the drive well before he took the pass.
