Inexperienced men would say that.

Shocker Stephen A. would go there. SHOCKER.

The Celtics having policy regarding this behavior has absolutely jack squat to do with how a demographic of people may or may not behave in their professional lives.

Absolutely sickening.

I feel bad for the dudes that were cheated on.

However, they should thank Udoka for showing them their POS wives true colors.

I feel bad for young men that think they can find a decent woman in this day and age. If you're rich, good looking and packing, you can find a decent woman, but if you're a regular Joe, good damn luck.

I say suspend Udoka for 10 games, fire the women, and move on.

Strike 2 / blatant misogyny

maybe you should move to Iran...

So my actual opinions aren't allowed here?

Do you live in 2022?

Absolutely ridiculous to strike me over an opinion.

WTF.

Last I checked - there are all walks of people who behave the way Ime did. Stephen A's comments/rhetoric are baiting and meant to turn the "spicy" meter up.

1. gerson rosas just got fired for something similar, so SAS as usual, is an idiot

2. this kind of thing reverberates through the organization if you don't address it. you lose people, people don't want to work there, you can get sued, etc.

3. it just so happens that work environment concerns are at top of mind for everyone because of sarver

Report me

I won't. You should practice more discretion in throwing around accusatory words though. Words matter. I once had a white guy tell me I was racist against Black people ... and I'm Black.

My Black wife and Black kids had a good laugh about that over dinner.

Fair enough, Maybe it was a bit strong.

But the guy brought up an unrelated point, on a completely meaningless and made up slight about mens rights. Bringing up that kind of topic out of nowhere clearly has an anti-feminist agenda

I mean he did take the team to the Finals in his 1st year and took it to 6 games lol. Teams still want to win so I'm sure someone in the Celtics organization vouched for him professionally cause of his on-court success not completely get rid of him. Plus even though it's worst than tawdry what he's alleged to have done by all accounts (so far) it wasn't forced and he didn't commit a crime which is what I bet the Celtics considered. Also depends who the VP was because at the end of the day it's still the owner's call.

That's a very optimistic look of things. A more realistic look might be the Celtics have to pay out his buyout if he's fired. We don't know what his coaching contract is but if it's a long term deal it's likely north of $10 million to fire him.

The Celtics ownership group has tried hard to stay under the luxury tax in the past. It's not an ownership group that is overly enthusiastic about spending money if there's a way to avoid it. If they want Ime gone it would be a lot cheaper to suspend him and try to pressure him into quitting and seeking employment elsewhere than it would be to fire him.

I wonder how hard it would be to suspend him and withhold paycheques here. He hasnt committed a crime and has basically done something thats in a grey area (consensual relationship in the office). If the woman doesnt directly report to Ime and Ime hasnt done anything to/for her career in the business, he hasnt really done anything wrong.

If theyre waving a year long suspension, there kinda has to be more there, no?

We don't know who the female staffer is, but even if they weren't a direct report to Ime Udoka a higher up in a company having a relationship with someone who isn't on the same organizational level as they are is still a big no-no, because it still does have career implications even if nothing has come of it yet. I believe it's pretty explicitly against the rules for NBA employees to do that per the CBA.

It's hard to judge how bad this specific incident is without knowing the details and without knowing the people involved, but this situation has to be taken seriously because if as soon as you open the door to allowing those with power in an organization to sleep with whoever they want this power can be badly abused.

Unfortunately we're in an era where every human being is now a detective, paparazzi, or thinks they're TMZ now because of the WWW. This is why Vanessa Bryant sued and why one of the first things she did the day of the tragedy was tell the Sheriif's departments to secure the scene immediately because celebrities nowadays probably train themselves now to expect no privacy or decency in any aspect or your life or death. Sadly I fear this is the reality for everyone not just celebrities anymore.

Not agreeing or disagreeing with Smith but isn't Rosas also not white. Your point sorta supports Smith's.

Agree with your 2 and 3.

This exactly. Obviously most people are not considering the implications, but they should.

Also even if it was completely consensual in one specific case, allowing high level executive employees to go to town by saying they can develop office romances with people that report to them is just inevitably going to lead to many sexual harassment lawsuits down the road.

There’s no expectation of privacy in public or public facing jobs. If you want anonymity don’t have a high ranking position within an NBA team.

Posting pictures is fair game imo

But you're making his point for him then. I asked if he was wrong and rather than just saying no, he's not wrong, you muddied the waters by making it about you 'think' he's thinking. All walks of people do this, yet it seems to be the recent successful Black coach who get this treatment.

Can you point to the recent white guy equivalent where this was not a problem?

What? Immature manchildren are posting random Linkedin profiles of women in the Celtics org. How are their jobs public facing? Almost all of these women are not the person who slept with Ime, but you're causing them permanent reputational harm and discouraging all other women from working for the Celtics or in any NBA front office. And-1s and turning the NBA into a male soap opera is worth **** with people's lives and careers? Grow up.
