Re: Woj/Shams - Ime Udoka is likely facing a suspension for the entire season - inappropriate consensual relationship

Post#382 » by Duke4life831 » Thu Sep 22, 2022 4:36 pm

Ya Im on the side of most likely this is probably more than just a normal consensual relationship between coworkers. If it was as simple as that, the organization most likely wouldve just had Ime and the woman sign some forms saying their personal relationship wont overlap with work and so on. Or just wouldve told them its not allowed. I dont see it becoming this massive deal that it has become. There wouldnt be talks of firing him, or suspending him for the season over a consensual relationship.

The internet rumors (and lets remember it was an internet rumor that broke this before Woj) seem to be a much more fitting situation for the kinds of punishments that are being talked about. When talks of possibly firing a guy, or even suspending him for a year (especially after he just coached the team to a trip to the finals), it seems like he had to piss off a lot of people.

From 4.0 per 1000 in 2000, all the way down to 2.3 per 1000 in 2020.

There’s a difference between a rate & a percentage. Example:

In 2021: 12 people ate an apple & 6 enjoyed it.

In 2022: 8 people ate an apple & 4 enjoyed it.

The rate decreased (since less people ate apples), but the percentage stayed the same (since 50% still enjoyed it).

uhhh are those not both 500 per 1000 or 50%. How has the rate decreased??
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

How was it hard to understand? He put all the blame on the woman while Ime also cheated on his finance

Damn, now he's cheating on his taxes too? Where does it end with Ime?!!

Lol that Ime is out of control.

Dude... even if that was the case... it's not that big of a deal lol. We're comparing this to much worse things like domestic violence lol.

It is a big deal to have sex AT your job (when sex isn't your job)

Meh... been there and done that. Crap like that happens lol.

My point was that we're treating 2 consensual adults having sex harsher than domestic abuse? There has to be more to the story lol.

The Celtics having policy regarding this behavior has absolutely jack squat to do with how a demographic of people may or may not behave in their professional lives.

Are you saying he's wrong?

of course he's wrong. he's a race baiting cvnt who should be fired/suspended for saying such blatant racist things on air.

Sooooo you're saying in the history of the NBA, in which probably 90% of the coaches, executive, and owners have been white, you believe there's never been an instance where an member of the organization had a consensual relationship with a subordinate?

Is Stephen A suggesting that there are multiple NBA coaches out here banging multiple wifes in their org?

And Doc Rivers who is probably one of the more in shape ones being a former player is stuck looking at Twitter for porn? Something doesn't add up.

Dont think these stats are 2.3 per 1000 married couples. just 2.3 per 1000 people

I think he's saying there have been multiple coaches and executives who banged subordinates or associates of the organization and it's not newsworthy there so why here?

Absolutely sickening.

I feel bad for the dudes that were cheated on.

However, they should thank Udoka for showing them their POS wives true colors.

I feel bad for young men that think they can find a decent woman in this day and age. If you're rich, good looking and packing, you can find a decent woman, but if you're a regular Joe, good damn luck.

I say suspend Udoka for 10 games, fire the women, and move on.

Strike 2 / blatant misogyny

So my actual opinions aren't allowed here?

Do you live in 2022?

Absolutely ridiculous to strike me over an opinion.

WTF.

Somebody is very bitter about his luck with the ladies.

LOL.

So you believe Stephen A should air out white executives and coaches to prove a point here?

Well, we'll see if Udoka ends up keeping his job in the end. He may not.

My guess is the Sarver stuff coming out when it did isn't doing Udoka any favors.

Need to know more details first. But in the wake of Sarver, the NBA is on high-alert for workplace/work culture issues.

If the guy replacing Udoka, however, has a history of DV then that's another problem.

I'm curious, are they coworkers (it may have been answered in this thread, but **** if I'm wading thru the 20 pages of it now), or does he hold a position of power over her in the company structure?

If it's the latter, that tends to be worse for a number of reasons. One, the woman could feel pressured into a relationship with him, even if it's "consensual", and two, she could receive all sorts of advancements in her career that are unrelated to her job performance.

Granted, I don't know if this is worth a year's suspension, but it tends to be a huge no-no in most businesses.

Fair enough, Maybe it was a bit strong.

But the guy brought up an unrelated point, on a completely meaningless and made up slight about mens rights. Bringing up that kind of topic out of nowhere clearly has an anti-feminist agenda

The difference in your tone here is that he would probably have no problem being called "anti-feminist", but I'm almost certain he is against being called a misogynist.

They are clearly two separate things.

Thank you for your humility.

I agree that not all anti-feminists are necessarily mysognist, while they are seperated they are relatated. The fact that he brought up a point that I don't think he truly cares about, with little thought, points to a reactionary mindset with these issues. To me that suggests misogyny but perhaps Ill allow posters to dig their hole a little deeper before labelling them

You don't get suspended for a whole year for having a consensual relationship. Something else is at play here.
