That's a really big deal if he does get a year long suspension. Ether way, Ime Udoka image has been damaged and it take quite sometime to repair it.

Saben Lee is immaterial, probably just filler. Utah didn't have a proven NBA-quality C on the roster. Say what you want about Olynyk, but he's a pretty big upgrade over Azubuike and you don't know what you'll get from Kessler this year.
I think that trade probably makes both teams better on the court. Detroit wants to be not-terrible this year.

“Consensual relationship” is in Woj’s tweet, but does not appear in Woj’s much longer story…

I do not think Olynik will move the needle this much...

Sure I agree, but if that's being listed as the incentive for Utah it should make some sense for Utah. It doesn't.
Ainge loves Olynyk is the only explanation that makes any sense to me, and even then it feels like quite poor value for Utah (could've found a 3 teamer with Phoenix?).

I agree. Woj suspects they will promote an assistant coach, but I wonder if they could try to twist Brad Stevens arm to coach for one season, if Steven insists on keeping Udoka. I know Stevens might still hate it, but the owner could point out this happened on his watch as GM, the Celtics get a guy they know who can coach this group of players, and you don’t run into any lame duck issues for the coach or players.
It would still be shocking, but a yearlong suspension vs firing is already shocking.

If it wasn’t really “Consensual“ then I don’t think any type of suspension option would be on the table here, he would be fired. Something seems missing here.

Don't get me wrong, getting Olynyk is an upgrade from trash tier to below average. But the Jazz still have a little bit of obligation to not be totally awful this year. They also have season ticket holders and no current young talent to showcase unless Agbaji and Kessler really hit.
It's also a financial savings of $5m or so which is worth a 2nd or two of value, and gives them more flexibility.

If it was a boss subordinate situation, I can see the desire not to include that term regardless of whether both people seemed happy.

Did the Minnesota owner terminate Rosas because of relationship violating org chart standards or because he lied about it?

Or because they wanted to let him go, he had bristled everyone wrong, and they found it and used it as the official reason.

If Lakers give up their future then they probably at least want a couple guys they can have locked in longterm with prime years ahead that both play defense and hit 3s.
What are people's thoughts on this?
Take out Duarte. The money savings from westbrook cost a first already. The remaining doesn't get you Duarte and Turner.
Russ is expiring, a useless expiring unless you're tanking, but still an expiring. So you're not committing any future money to him, just the extra money this year.
Now I don't treasure those future Lakers picks as much as some folks because it's the Lakers, even after LeBron is gone, somebody else will sign with them to make them competitive enough for those picks not to be that sexy for me. So I agree that it's not a super overwhelming offer, but it's reasonable...especially if you're higher on those picks than I am.

I'm well aware that westbrook is expiring. Eating 25 mil still cost a 1st no matter if its over multiple years or all in one year. Iguodala's 17M expiring costed GSW a first few years ago.

That varies, as a counterpoint; Burks & Noel only cost SRPs *shrug*
Plus it's not like it puts the Pacers in the tax; so if they thought the draft compensation was fair for Turner & Duarte, I don't think it should be a hold-up. So the question is whether the Pacers think those LA picks & swaps are worth Turner & Duarte?
My guess would be no...unless they valued Russ as a tank commander and were worried that Turner & Duarte might help them win too many game, but like I said, I'm not as high on those picks as some people.

I still believe burks and noel only cost srps because of the duren/MIL 1st deal. without the latter detroit would've charged more.

I believe I saw some insiders saying that Rosas was extremely likely to be fired at some point that season. The inappropriate relationship just forced the move a lot sooner than the team probably wanted.

That's fair, as I do to...but even then we're talking about swapping a midFRP for a late FRP and a bunch of SRPs. Still not an outright unprotected FRP.
