The Rays offense has been bad for a while now. I think this game only reinforces just how bad Berrios is.

Nevermind this btw with a loss all but certain; we need this joke to pitch as long as possible now with another bullpen game tomorrow.

That'll be another inning at most at this rate

There is something fundamentally undermining Berrios effectiveness with his 4 seamer.. whether that's mechanics or where he's set up on the rubber in relation to the batter however something is clearly wrong.

Yep. And we do actually need that considering the next 3 games.

Doesn't seem to matter what the rays are or have been.. they are tough for us.

The Jays may want to reevaluate the whole pushing Manoah back a day thing now. Two bullpen days in a row otherwise.

His 4-seamer is definitely the worst of his problems. The okay parts of his pitch mix (CH/CU) are awkward with just a sinker though. He either needs to ditch it and develop something to keep hitters off the sinker (a cutter, maybe?) or radically overhaul his 4-seamer, because it might as well be on a tee right now.

If we get swept here, we need to tank for that #3 WC spot.

Orioles are up right now and may be 5.5 back after tonight (with 3 games remaining against us). We may not be in any position to tank at all if we get swept.

Also, Cleveland with all their slap/situational hitting and stolen bases could be this team's worst nightmare anyway. They remind me of the 2015 Royals.

So, Manoah, Gausman and Stripling in the playoffs. Just like we though at the beginning of the year.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Rays scored 2 runs in 3 games vs the astros.

Already 9 tonight in one game lol.

We can't start Berrios in a playoff game right? I still have nightmares of Dickey tossing a game va the 2015 Royals lol

A large contingent of fans on the Jays subreddit wants Berrios in there instead of Stripling, lol.

I'd rather start White than Berrios if it came down to it.

Wilner is literally tweeting that right now. It was also a story on Sportsnet last week.

Unless the team is run by total morons, he can't start a Bo3 playoff game. He's been horrible this season. I wouldn't even put him on the roster.

With the additional rest in the playoffs, I'd just bullpen game it if needed.

20-3 Rays over the last two games against them. And apparently Mitch White is starting over Manoah tomorrow. Doomed.
