This is the most I've ever heard Ben speak. Wow this interview really does a great job of helping us to get to know him.

I'm pretty excited to see him play. Put the ball in his hands at PG and let him move the ball

Gets me excited as a Nets fan. Worth the 1 hour listening to him. I expect a great year from him to put the doubters to rest.

I actually think he will one of the best Nets in the history of the franchise. We’ve got him through the start of his prime and definitely extend him if he balls out hard. He’s cemented the commitment What harden was supposed to be.

One thing I did notice is that Ben does take accountability for some things, like what happened in the Hawks series. Other parts he kind of defers blame. We really won't know the truth about how things deteriorated in Philly and frankly it has nothing to do with the present.

He sounds very excited to get started, and we know for a fact he has been working all summer with the staff. He's got my 100% support.

He has all the personnel here that fits his game, so now the onus is on idiot Nash not to f*ck this up. We should be playing fast and free, with Ben operating as the lead ball handler and also operating out of the post to create plays.

We have two elite scorers, an all NBA defensive stud/playmaker, and elite level spacing. We should be a dominant team if everyone shuts up, buys in, and has each other's backs.

Also, he did a better job than the Nets did at explaining what happened to his back last season. Dude's sh*t was messed up and the Nets PR handled everything horribly.

I need to see a turnaround here in terms of communication and team preparation. What Marks was running last year was very unprofessional. If the team starts slow in October, Nash needs to go and Marks should be in the hot seat.

He’s still 25-26. I think his overall perception of things will look differently in several years. I do think he truly has a little Iverson-level defiance in his blood but we would say the same thing if we had Draymond Green without Curry.

Is it possible that that type of **** is also why KD demanded a trade to wake up that situation? It was reported three times (non Woj/Shams) that KD had issues with the direction of how we built the team AND internal issues which never was classified.

I think we’re seeing that and I think KD has an eye for things that any average player and possible fan didn’t notice. Yes, Kyrie’s extension was in limbo for obvious reasons but I do think Marks ran a horrible PR situation throughout the post Harden trade. From Joe Harris to Ben Simmons.

Of the Big 3, he has my support the most. I think Ben is just looking for a fresh start and is grateful to be here. I'd rather invest in him, than the two talented, but unpredictable knuckleheads.

It still surprises me that some would rather trade him just to get Mitchell. Except for the shooting part, he has elite talent overall. He's not just some throw away off a trade, we can seriously build around this dude.

Nash supposed to go long time ago and Marks along with him for keeping him that long , if there is anyone who could f… up Bens positive attitude for next season is Nash

In ideal world I don’t care who’s Udoka f….d in Boston , Nets suppose grab him back asap and this guy would work his ass off for us , this time as a HC

Not high jacking a thread , really liked Ben positivity, Nets PR is the worst I’ve ever seen

The crazy thing about the Nets PR is that it destroyed Ben's reputation. I'm surprised he was so chill about it. Remember how guys were on ESPN like "If Ben doesn't play in Game 3 or 4 - he's the biggest LOSER of all time" and stuff like that. The dude ended up getting back surgery like 2 weeks later. Just so irresponsible.

That's without even considering the fans. If someone probably won't be ready to play, we need to know.

Marks is lucky our media is soft and a little too professional.

If we were the Knicks, best believe Marks would have been taken to the woodshed for what happened last year.

The Nets fed Ben to the wolves. They knew that this guy wasn't ready to play. They should have said Simmons was out indefinitely due to conditioning and health and left it at that, instead they kept teasing the fanbase when Ben had pain shooting down from his neck to his legs, and they wanted him to play his first games in playoff intensity?

I've been off of Marks' bandwagon for awhile now, i thought he was someone who really had it together but I was wrong. He is very lucky that cooler heads have prevailed...so far.

I want Udoka to come here too, but we need to let things play out and see exactly what happened. If Ime did something really bad, then I can't support him being hired. So far, we just know that he slept with someone consensually. If its just that, then yes, bring him in and dump Nash in the street

It takes two to dance in a relationship, and I think you're right. I'm sure that KD had legitimate issues with how things were happening.

I listened to it almost as soon as it was released. It was a great podcast. I'm cautiously optimistic about how he'll turn out with us.

With that said, I still have proverbial PTSD from KD & Kyrie. I was elated when they decided to join, but they've not only muted my passion for the team, they made me actively avoid Nets related content for the last several months due to all of their shenanigans. 3 years ago I planned to get KD & Kyrie Nets gear; now, I'm pretty sure I'll never get anything emblazoned with their names.

I really hope Simmons balls out. At the very least, I want to get this season's retro jersey and if he plays well, I can actually stomach having a player's name on it.

Ben Simmons sit down interview with JJ Redick

Post#18 » by Paradise » Fri Sep 23, 2022 7:03 pm

Shout out to our guy, Ime Udoka for sleeping with Celtics female staff and higher ups to help Ben Simmons and KD lose the spotlight before media day while also imploding the Celtics after losing Gallo, Williams and pissing off Jaylen Brown.

My man is a Nets legend. I’m getting a Udoka jersey if we win it all. Get him a ring he rightfully deserved with us. Simmons has to slide him some money for overshadowing his own interview lol

I have to admit, the tables have turned drastically from this summer.

All of the KD drama this summer is nothing compared to what's happening over there. Awful injuries, an infidelity scandal, alleged sexual harassment and if you've heard what Matt Barnes said, it's 100x worse than what we know now. Who knows how Jaylen Brown feels after being openly shopped (shout out to the Nets for leaking like crazy during that whole process).

I'll take KD being a brat and Kyrie being a space cadet as opposed to having the bottom fall out.

It's somewhat ironic that the two likeliest KD suitors from earlier this off-season are currently the two most drama filled. Hopefully he realizes that Marks refusal to trade him may have been a the best thing that could have happened for him.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
