If there is a QB controversy after the Giants game then that means Cooper beat the Giants.

Of course you do.

So this is what Jerry wants.Gee I thought he wanted a SB. :starwars
There are quite a few in the media concerned that this might actually hurt Daks feelings a bit.
Some of his previous comments about McCarthy, and Dak before Dak got paid must have messed with their heads a bit.The media sure felt/spinned it that way.

If Dak’s vag is hurt over this then he’s not the right guy anyways and should be gone.

I’m not saying that he is hurt over it, just that if his skin is that thin then we need another guy.

Dak might not be hurt by it,but he may be stunned or slightly confused, and would never admit that he was hurt(maybe).Jerry will say anything now to get any attention to his Cowboys.Jerry might figure the team is not good enough to win the whole thing so anything goes as far as spin or comments.
It would be interesting to see what would actually happen if Cooper plays amazing. What would Jerry be saying then????????? :noway:

It might be good ratings for the Cowboys along with their bottom line of making money and always staying in the news, but Jerry's comments are horrible for the team. Plus its always a bad look when the only owner in the league constantly runs his mouth and is the primary spokesperson for the team.

Considering how Dak got his job in the first place he should be stunned or surprised by all this talk.

So what happens if Cooper wins these next 2 games and looks good in doing so?  :eyebrows:

Then Jerry will call him the next coming of Troy Aikman, and Michael Irvin will agree with him. :noway:
Sometimes Irvin says things that rival Jerry.

Dak is still the guy. Now if Dak were out 10 games and Cooper Rush won all 10 games (like Dak did his rookie year) then there might be a legit QB controversy. Winning 4 games won’t be enough for Rush to replace Dak though.

Actually I feel the same way you do but I should have made myself a bit more clear. What is Jerry thinking, will Jerry make this a QB controversy, will Jerry screw it all up one way or another? If so how?

If Cooper wins all of his games the media and fans (like ourselves) will create the controversy, not Jerry. I'm still wondering why a QB controversy is a bad thing though? I don't think either Cooper or Dak are the types to have bad blood over it and do something harmful to the team. If Cooper wins all his games there will be a controversy and I hope it happens.

Wins and losses shouldn't judge them though. Dak had to face the Bucs defense and then may return to the Eagles defense. IMO those might be the best two defenses in the NFL. Both are at least top-5 defenses. Just bad luck for Dak. I do not expect Dallas to beat the Eagles no matter who is at QB.

Jerry already started some QB controversy before it ever started. I guess you don't follow things very well. Jerry got what he wanted and you and other younger Cowboy fans eat it right up. Of course you would never blame Jerry for ANYTHING. Your as blind as a bat. I'm starting to wonder if you graduated from high school or received a GED from Job Corp. The only reason why I would want a QB controversy is because we know Dak is not the guy and I want to see if Rush is possibly the guy going forward. As soon as dak takes back over, things will fall apart on offense. Mark my word.

imo-It all depends on what Jerry says, and if anyone takes him seriously, and how much the media buys into his reactions, and how they spin it.Both the media, and Jerry like to be taken seriously.Jerry has to be taken seriously because he is still the owner, and he can make changes, but he wont here.If he singles out Dak like he did Mccarthy then that could be a problem, but I dont think even Jerry is that stupid, but you never know what he is going to say ,and we like to think we know what he will do in a situation first thought to be bad,but now maybe not so bad.He should just keep his mouth shut or just be complimentary to whoever he is talking about, and if he just keeps it to talking about the team then that would be good.

Jerry is a snake oil salesman. Can’t sell snake oil by being quiet. He was doing what he always does and that’s draw attention to the team (good or bad).

And as a fan, the best thing I can do when it comes to Jerry is what I've done for the good part of the last 20 years.

Ignore him.

Jerry isn't selling "snake oil" here.

Cooper Rush is actually a very solid QB

He’s been very solid correct but don’t forget, not only was he cut by the Giants 2 seasons ago but was was cut this year and available to every team in the NFL and absolutely no one wanted him. Hell half the Cowboys fans wanted Will Grier over him.

Now tell me which is more likely, that the scaled back offense and surprise play of Tyler Smith at LT (not to mention the defense giving good field position) has really helped Rush, or that Rush is now all of a sudden better than Dak?

I know Cooper Rush is not Dak Prescott. My personal opinion about what Jerry was trying to "sell" is that he intended to create a QB controversy because he views that as healthy and TBH I don't see why it isn't. I've been voicing that in here without reply. All it's going to do is make each of them play harder. Give Cooper the impression that if he keeps it up he can be a starting QB in the NFL. Give Dak motivation to play harder.

They are both stand up guys and I can't imagine something like that causing friction with them.

I think the reason it’s not a good idea (from my opinion) is Jerry has always felt this team thrives on controversy. Those of us that have followed this team since before he bought the team knows that’s not true. Jerry is a salesman and wants his team talked about regardless if it is good or bad news. Cooper Rush has done a great job driving the bus but don’t you think it would make his job a lot easier if he didn’t have to answer all the dumbass questions about a QB controversy? How about just let things be and let Cooper concentrate on the job at hand.

Return to Dallas Cowboys
