Don’t see his ceiling as what a lotto picks ceiling is. There we’re talking about 20ppg type guys or all-star ceilings, even though most never reach that.

That said, from SL he clearly looks like he’ll be our best draft pick since Brogdon in 2016. Think his contribution ability will fit somewhere between the spectrum of Mbah a Moute (floor) to Brogdon (ceiling).

What’s interesting is him putting nearly 15 ppg in SL with most of his points coming from him off ball. They’ve run some action for him but it has probably resulted in as many TO as points. That’s really promising, given he has at best been a third option on offense so far. If he can be a 10/3/2 type rookie that also gets you a s many steals and blocks as turnovers, I think that is a big win. But obviously going to require good corner 3 production, I think that is his sweet spot this year.

I don't see how he'll get the minutes to score 10 a game (probably would need to be around 30 minutes per game), unless there are major injuries. Pat's never averaged 10 a game.

Yeah beating out Nwora seems like the lowest hanging fruit minutes for MarJon.

We've also been playing Wes Matthews way too much. And it's not like Grayson Allen or George Hill are unbeatable for clock at the 2 either.

You may be right, but 2020-21 DDV put up 10/6/3, Forbes put up 10/1.6/.6....so maybe somewhere in between albeit in a different way.

DDV over a few seasons with us averaged around 9-10 ppg, 5 reb, couple of assist in about 25 mpg. I think that is kind of the early model you are hoping for but certainly could be overly optimistic in any particular category.

This is whats so promising about him.

He was the second leading scorer on the g league ignite even tho he shot 25% fron 3 and played the same off ball garbage man role. The man just finds buckets.

The Ignite coach even said his favorite thing about marjon was he never had to run plays for him. Hes just a guy who accumulates stats and plays when hes on the court.

Reminds me of giannis at an early age, obvious warts and things to work on but you put him out there and he will impact the game.

Probably posted, but a great rundown on journey leading up to the Bucks. After watching this, I think a lot of those HS moves were probably led by his dad trying to get him to the NBA

Can't wait till we play Atlanta and he shuts down Dejounte Murray while proceeding to bop him on the head with a basketball after the buzzer sounds. I hear it's the "Seattle Guy" sign of (dis)respect, similar to the "Canadian Handshake" (please don't google that).

I didn’t watch the video but that’s what it is every time. That’s just how it is in modern youth basketball, you do what you gotta do to make it.

Especially for a guy like him who was just a random d1 prospect ranked 50 something in a recruiting class. Him being drafted, let alone being a 1st round pick is very rare so whatever they did worked apparently.

He's just gotta bulk up a bit. Say 15-20lbs within the next 2 seasons.

Thank god MarJon didn't suffer the fate of Chet.

I was very disappointed that we took mjb instead of Nikola Jovic. I feel that Jovic has a much higher potential and his outside shooting was exactly what the Bucks sorely needed. I hope that the Bucks do not get to big time regretting.

Beauchamp showed some promise shooting from the outside in summer league. We'll see if it translates during the season. He has solid potential as a very good "garbage man" who doesn't need the ball to contribute.

Yep. A switchable 3&D that can play off ball and has the length to make life tougher on the Tatum types of the world is probably the biggest gap on our roster. I’m extremely hopeful we found a valuable piece in this draft

lots of positive vibes about Marjon.
im not with that yet.
i dont think he'll b better or more impactful than Donte.
maybe if he went to a team where hed get mins and the ball.
he had barely mediocre handles in SL.
at least hes athletic.
hope he turns out good, but, i need to see some flashes of something to have my mind changed

The thing I like about MarJon is that he seems like a guy who is willing to accept his role and be a star in that role. Those are the types guys you want on a championship caliber team.

Unlike a guy like Nwora who doesn't seem to accept his role and tries to do too much. Which leads to a bunch of bad shots and a bunch of unforced turnovers. Which eventually leads to him getting permanently benched by the all-star break.

MarJon has the right attitude, we'll find out soon if he can actually play.
