I don't see Westbrook coming off the bench. He's not smart and not a team player.... he's either starting or off the team I my thoughts on him. We'll see those line up where Bron goes out at the 5 minute mark and back at 8 minute mark to lead the second unit.

What in the hell are we going to do with 4 PGs? Rob is starting to get on my nerves with his obsession with small guards....

We will be revolutionizing the game. They already envision some of them playing small forward.

Looks like people are most keen on this 5-man starting unit:
Beverley, Reaves, LeBron, Davis, Bryant

With these guys behind them you have an 8-man playoff rotation:
Westbrook, Nunn, Jones

PG: Beverley (16) | Westbrook (32)
SG: Reaves (10) | Nunn (24) | Beverley (14)
SF: LeBron (28) | Reaves (20)
PF: Davis (38) | LeBron (10)
C : Bryant (30) | Jones (18)

Honestly.....who really cares? This team is gonna be a practice dummy for the top 3rd of the league.

I really enjoyed listening to everyone try and put lipstick over this pig yesterday. Last year, there was a general optimism. I think some guys REALLY thought they had something. Yes.....you had to ignore 18 years of history with Russ. And there were of course the geriatric questions. Definitely some of that polishing going on last media day.....but underneath it all was this true belief that if the "dad squad" could work out....and if Russ somehow morphed into a team player....there might actually be a title.

None of that this year. "We're gonna be that team that really tries hard" "Give the fans the effort they deserve" That's the message yesterday. Ain't no talk of #18. Nobody could even bring themselves to mention it. "It starts at practice" <---- The message of a team starting from the bottom. This team is gonna be wretched. And Russ won't change one bit.

Who's first? Russ benched/flips out.....or Davis in street clothes?

Start whoever....it don't matter.

I guess I'm a little more optimistic than most.

We have a younger team with a number of young athletic studs on one year contracts that are hungry and looking to prove themselves.
No more DAJ, Dwight, Melo, Ariza, Bazemore, Bradley.

We have a new coach that will emphasize defense and selfless mentality and will hopefully relate with and connect to these players. I liked Vogel but it was clear that the team did not respond to him anymore.

We hopefully will have a healthy LBJ and AD for a majority of the year.

And Russ will have to be used in a different way. Last year, they depended on him for minutes. His time should be limited and off the bench.

My starters are LBJ, AD, Bryant, Beverly, and Nunn.
Brown, JTA, Dennis, Walker, Russ, and Jones off the bench.

I see us a 6-8 team in the West.

I think most of us are very frustrated but not necessarily predicting that they will fail to qualify for the playoffs. But when you have Lebron and AD, you shouldn't be hoping to be in the 6th to 8th spot esp if both of your superstars play most of the games.
I see them playing much better defense because of accountability and health, then they hope Nunn, Beverley,Reaves hit about 38% from 3 to open up the lanes. I see Mavericks struggling without Brunson, maybe Memphis regressing.

I agree with all your points.
I'm really frustrated too.

This team though has a totally different look. Younger, more athletic, hopefully better defensively.
I really think they'll have an identity that was lacking last year. And that it will be defense, rebounding, and toughness.

I'm hopeful. My 6-8 ranking takes into account the injury issues with LBJ and AD and the time that they will potentially miss, and that the West is absolutely loaded again this year.

I am hopeful too, that everyone would hustle and work very hard and play smart ball. I hope and pray that I am wrong about the Klutch boys particularly Brown Jr and Walker. I can see Beverley and Reaves diving for loose balls and also hitting their open 3's. I hope Nunn will even be a better version of Monk last season. I pray AD would be sharp and not settle on many 17 footers, not avoid contact and don't go to the FT line enough. Hopefully Ham would showcase Swider too.. Having said that I don't see this team really contending for the title. If 3-5 of these role players show a lot of promise, they could be used as trade baits too while they monitor the Nets/Kyrie, OKC/SGA,Bulls/Ball situation.

I’d like to see AD, LBJ, Dunn, Beverly, and Jones start to establish a defensive identity .

I went with Nunn/Reaves/LeBron/AD/Bryant. I like Bryant spreading the floor for LeBron and AD while Jones is a rim-runner for the second unit. At the guard spots, I like Nunn as a starter more than Beverley if Russ is coming off the bench. I think Nunn will be a really good fit as a secondary ball handler and spot-up shooter with LeBron. I also weirdly like pairing Russ with Beverly in the second unit, I think a second unit with Beverley and JTA will play with an energy that will be good for Russ.

So with Westbrick/Nunn/LBJ/AD/Jones our only shooter is a 6 foot 2 SG??? LOL what a **** joke....

It's like the front office refuses to get with the times. This isn't early 2000s basketball anymore.... These morons are going to get torched by shooters EVERY. SINGLE. NIGHT...

Yup... the upset this year will be an injury free season (mostly) and the rag-tag bench of players from the island of misfit toys gelling in some way. From the very top of the org down it's been a pretty bad last 2 years of decision and play. The long term signing of Bron has cemented this fiasco for the next 4 years I'm afraid.

So Schröder doesn’t play? Still have no idea why we traded for Beverly when Schröder was out there waiting. Schröder has been the better player for a few years now and this season will be no different. Beverly’s defense is vastly overrated, he’s injury prone, and quite limited on offense. He’s probably better spot up shooter though.

This team traded for Beverley because desperately need a shooter who plays decent defense. He has a career 38% from 3. Dennis is a much better defender and shot creator but can’t shoot consistently from 3, if he does, he would be a borderline star with a decent contract by now.
