There is no logical reason to pick Murray here.

Garland is a better passer/playmaker/scorer and has stayed healthy while Murray is coming off a major injury.

Garland is such a more 3-dimensional player. A shooting/scoring playmaker is such a valuable offensive engine. Murray would have to be so explosive as a scorer this year to be clearly more valuable. It's a similar thought exercise to compare Garland to his new backcourt mate, Donovan Mitchell. I think there's a chance Murray has a better season, if he comes back strong (he did take some extra recovery time in order to do so) while Garland struggles to assert himself next to Mitchell. I think Garland has more upside.

I don't think this is a crazy comp though. Murray's pull-up game is monstrous, and he's very crafty off-the-ball next to Jokic. He's a very cerebral player and is underrated as a player maker (4.8 assists per game every year with just over 2 turnovers). On a different team he could probably put up big assist numbers as a full-time PG. He shot 50/45/90 in a deep playoff run.

I think the only real reason to choose Murray here would be due to the degree that he's proven himself as a playoff baller. Hoping he can be a 30+ppg guy in the playoffs.

I agree with that seems Garlands caught up or slightly past him already. I think he's the better player but I think it's possible health alowing of course for Murray to have a better year due to having the Joker making life a little easier.

Its possible but I don't think Murray really has it in him to be a big time rs scorer. That's kind of what he's shown and Jokic has been great for a while. I think Garland may have it in him to make a few 3rd teams in the future while I think Murray likely remains more like an all star type player.

*Bubble

Seriously, outside of the *bubble what has he done in the playoffs? Zilch. *Bubble stars need to prove it outside the bubble before they get any credit for their *bubble accomplishments.
