How would you rank these 3 players for just this particular season?

They were all more or less equal. The only difference is role. Shaq and Kobe split their roles so Duncan garners more overall credit for 2001. But at the end of the day they were all roughly equal.

I think Shaq was above both, and then Duncan, and then Kobe.

2001 Shaq is probably the second best Shaq (2000)
2001 Duncan is probably the 4th best Duncan (2003, 2002, 2007, maybe 2005).
2001 Kobe regular season not in the same tier with Shaq and Duncan, but had a special playoffs.

2001 Shaq > 2001 Duncan > 2001 Kobe

I'd also go with Shaq > Duncan > Kobe, but I agree they were reasonably close in that season, for different reasons.

If you’re talking about when they played, Shaq is in a tier of his own. Duncan below him, then Kobe below that.

At worst Duncan reached that tier during the next season.

Eh, he reached roughly Shaq’s 02 level in 02. Shaq had the better playoffs, Duncan the better regular season. He wasn’t 01 level though.

In 02 with Shaq guarding him, Duncan went 9/30 in game 1. Ok game 2, terrible game 3.

Shaq faced much tougher defense against the twin towers, but still was the more effective scorer with higher eFG. Shaq also got opponents in foul trouble, and had ridiculous gravity that Duncan certainly didn’t.

No, he reached peak Shaq level.

In 02 with Shaq guarding him, Duncan went 9/30 in game 1. Ok game 2, terrible game 3.

With Duncan guarding him, Shaq went 9/22 in game 1, 7/16 in game 2 and 7/18 in game 5.

Shaq faced much tougher defense against the twin towers,

Robinson missed half of the series and played limited minutes in games he played.

but still was the more effective scorer with higher eFG.

That's not true, Shaq had slightly higher eFG% but significantly lower TS%. You also don't take into account the volume - Duncan averaged 7.5 ppg more than Shaq in that series.

Shaq also got opponents in foul trouble, and had ridiculous gravity that Duncan certainly didn’t.

You just show you haven't watched the series...

Shaq > Duncan > Kobe, pretty easy one.
This place is a cesspool of mindless ineptitude, mental decrepitude, and intellectual lassitude. I refuse to be sucked any deeper into this whirlpool of groupthink sewage. My opinions have been expressed. I'm going to go take a shower.

Are we talking about the same series where Kobe averaged 33/7/7 on 58 ts% and outplayed both of them?

Yeah, Kobe was the best player in 2001 WCF overall.
