The lack of realism in sports games is jarring. And it has always been a problem. The one I played the most was Madden. For younger fans Michael Vick was a good not great running QB whose career was sidetracked by dog fighting. While he was never as good as his rep he was super entertaining. He was just unstoppable in the edition below:

and when I say unstoppable if someone picked Vick, and had any skill, they would just put up absurd numbers playing football in a way that had no relations to reality.
That is what the customers want so that is what they get. But it is damn silly.
