Fantasy basketball (individual stats) has nothing to with team A "being better than" team B.

So I don't understand your post.

True. Really means nothing at all. But the Pistons/Cade didn't look very good and I'm sure you can agree to that. I did think Ivey in particular looked great and I had some reservations about him initially.

Anyways I don't know why Knicks and Pistons are being compared to one another.

definitely, and i would've said that before last night. the knicks should have a good defense again and hopefully with brunson now they're an average offense.

the pistons are likely going to have a bottom-5 defense and their ceiling offensively is probably an average offense.

Pistons have Cade and some other dudes with some talent but the league is just super deep these days and I don't think they have the defensive chops to keep up. Lot of high variance young guys so they could prove that wrong.

Knicks should be solid, probably a play-in team.

Lets have this conversation again in a year or 2. Right now though the Pistons are too young.

Isn’t it strange to use the word “better” in the same sentence as “Knicks”?

The Knicks are a likely 8th seed in the playoffs this year. Since they could meet in the first round, Detroit was just sandbagging tonight so as to not give away their strategies and plays in the 1 vs. 8 series.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

Ofc the Knicks are better today. Not sure why this was ever a question. Comparing a vet team to a team of kids its not a fair comparison.

If you said better future its clearly the Pistons. Were on completely diff timelines. The Knicks are pushing for playins were happy getting another lotto pick.

to be honest the knicks aren’t even really a team with a ton of vets either. other than rose fournier and randle not a ton of nba experience on the roster. our players are just further a long right now

The Pistons have more vets than the Knicks right now. Randle (28), Fournier (30), and Rose (34) are the only players over 26 on the roster. The Pistons have Bogdanovic, Burks, Joseph, Noel, McGruder all over 28 and older.
Go Knicks!

The Knicks are better right now, but Detroit has a much higher ceiling. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up with similar records.

I don't think former agents make good general managers. Read into that what you will.

He's not the guy who drafted Curry/Klay. I would like to know whether it was he or Jerry West who was the final voice in drafting Green, trading for Iggy, and declining to trade Klay for Love.

I doubt it. I agree Detroit has pieces but just based on stages in rebuild Detroit is probably 2-3 seasons from winning basketball. When that time comes they probably will be more talented, but that wasn’t the question of the thread. The Knicks are the better team right now. Detroit will be noticeably worst this year.

Pistons have better building blocks (Cade, Ivey, Bey, Duran) with more upside for sure.
