The conspiracist in me think SAS, Utah, Indiana and OKC would round out the top 4 in lottery. the former 3 all need a new star and OKC's top pick is gone for the year. Houston/Orlando/Detroit all scored big in recent drafts already so they're out

OKC also has never had the #1 pick. Only picked on the top 5 once in the last decade.

I doubt OKC is up there with some others in terms of losses. What will be interesting though is if there’s any amount of picks that can get a team to trade out of the top 2. I expect that to be an active conversation.

Interesting stat. Just checked the same for Utah: as far as I can tell, we had Danny Manning for 82 games very late in his career, and Derrick Rose for about 30 seconds after getting him as salary ballast and buying him out.

If you want to get off the schneid, I'm sure Anthony Bennett is still available.

Rox would be set if they get Wemby:
c - Wemby/Sengun tandem
pf - Jabari with Garuba backup.
sf - Eason with Tate
sg - Green with Christopher
pg - Porter Jr with Tyty

All of these guys on rookie contracts - except Tate (cheap) and Porter (QO).
Add in KMart, MIL 2023 1st, and a ton of 2023 cap space. Kind of hoping HOU can package that MIL pick and additional assets (2024 BKN, KMart, etc.) to move up to get JWalker (UH pf) - would be strong forward trio with Jabari and Eason.

OKC and DET would be interesting center tandems if they got Wemby. SAS certainly needs him. Utah could use him but it is early in their rebuild.

I think the lottery isn't rigged and have no idea who will get Wemby. I also am not sold this guy is ever going to live up to the hype. The track record with guys that tall is just terrible. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see this guy as the best prospect since Lebron. Not by a long stretch.

He does not look as dis-proportionate as most guys over seven foot. A bigger better shooting version of Chet (who might be one of those guys falling into the bad health track record).

Rox will suck enough to be bottom three - so 27.4% percent chance at pick one or two (14%, 13.4% respectively). So, a very good shot at one of them.
But, there are a lot of guys that might be good this year. I like JWalker. Smith looks good. The Thompson twins. Lively. Mitchell. Whitmore. Whitehead.
I am so hoping HOU adds another first by shipping out EGordon/KMart/Mathews/etc. and can parlay that along with MIL pick (and maybe 2024 BKN pick) to add one more top ten guy.
