He just asked me the other day if he could spend $50 in VC

We just learned a few years ago what VC is and how these companies use it to drain bank accounts.
This is on top of the $100 he already paid for the game. Don't forget the $20 you pay monthly for the xbox subscription.

and this on top of the $100 + Who knows how much VC he spent Last Year for the last NBA 2K22

It's a total racket. I can't believe they get away with this and we buy into the scam.

Pac Man never needed VC!!!!

I didn’t know 80 year olds posted here

If he's an 80 year old person that has a 15 yr kid, then how can you hate? He's still going strong!

I got myteam as well lol. Myteam is always fun. But i always enjoy creating my own player. They've just gone overboard with this version.

At least people cant spam the same moves like previous 2K's but the VC and steals are a joke. VC especially is ridiculous how much you have to spend just to bump yourself up like 5 levels.

John Tyler, who was POTUS from 1841-1845 was a very productive man. His last grandson died in 2020.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/history/2020/11/29/president-john-tyler-grandson-harrison/

John Tyler, an enslaver who was thrown out of his own political party, the Whigs, for vetoing so many bills, never makes it onto lists of best presidents. But he certainly made his share of history in the White House, where he served from 1841 to 1845. He was the first vice president to assume the presidency upon the death of a president; the first president to have a veto overridden; the first president to endure a House impeachment vote (it failed); the first president to be widowed and to marry while in office; and the president who fathered the most children — 15!

This is the gaming industry today. However I will say I have played the game both online and offline, and this is by far the best they’ve ever made. Online will always have its toxicity but what do you expect? The majority are kids who follow and praise YouTubers, who do the same exploit every game. Yes VC prices are outrageous but you ever heard of supply and demand?

No surprise about 2k becoming like this, I said this a few years back they will just push the limits of their greed further and further each year. Soon the MyPlayer mode will be behind a paywall, then you'll have to pay if you want to play online.

part of the plan - make the online "city" world so big that you spend VC on vehicles to move around, and it delays and makes it even harder to find games (travel across the city to the other courts) so you have less chances to earn VC and play the game less in favour of being in the app wasting time and thinking it would be more efficient to just buy VC

Wait a second, NBA 2k is now set up that to be able to play a game I have to walk around virtual basketballs until I find an open one. Am I understanding you correct?

Basically, yes. Even if you want to skip all the city stuff you can't. You can go do all the dialogue around the city that is required and skip it once you get there, but there's no option just to play the games in the my player mode.

WOW! I don't get how this is popular. I'd rather just go outside and play basketball. How long is the wait 10 minutes?

there are only a couple modes you can do to play online

Play online now - typically 1v1 matchup with a random, access from menu, pick and NBA team by tiers, and hope your opponent isnt picking an all-time great team

MyPlayer - however, this one forces you into a city, which you then have to walk around, waste time, talk to NPC, do some dumb quests against AI players, and maybe just maybe you can get into a "community" game on 1v1, 2v2 or 3v3 courts in the city, or you walk to the "rec centre" where it will put you in a random 5v5 game, but of course, random players will quit if you dont have a good character rating/player game stats, or you get stuck with ballhandlers that dont pass - since the game forces the same inbounders all the time.

I don't know, I only do the NBA games. After the first season all the tasks go away - I hope.

to be fair, jumping on rec with 4 other friends on voice comm is super fun, but good luck finding 4 friends as an adult in this day and age all online at the same time, all willing to grind up the player rating + gatorade boosts + whatever other bs you need to play at the top competition without all of you spending $200+ on VC

The game makes you turn it over, if your doing it in close proximity to other team.

Personally, the last thing I want in myleague or mygm is storyline. Myplayer was the biggest joke ever to me way before they introduced city mechanics, the story and cutscenes were always unbearable.
I am a guy who is all about the simulation aspect. I check every box score, every rumor, just get immersed into simulation aspect of the game. I wish they made stuff like player personalities matter far more, now you can see who is suppose to be loyal, who is suppose to be all about money, but I never really noticed a difference. I wish they had serious negative personality badges, but they will never do it, because they dont want to upset players and their twitter accounts these days, thats where we are as species...

And I know I have been told that stamina carries over between games, but I never noticed that. Make fatigue really important, like in FIFA games. In FIFA you need to manage your rotations unless your players become unplayable because they got no stamina anymore. Fatigue in NBA just doesnt work that way, you will play guys all 82 games and never feel any difference. Stupid thing about fatigue in this dumb game, is that it recovers after every break, which would make sense, but there is no dynamic cap, so if you play over time, the more over times you play, the less players get tired, because intermission recovers more stamina than OT consumes. This is the same thing like 100% success rate shots, like some aspect of the game is good, but some are so stupid, you really need to be an idiot to make it.

All in all, you couldnt pay me to play online, but off line, you still have to have gentlemen rules v AI, because you can always put 6'9 wing at PG, and AI never knows how to deal with it. In FIFA, you relaly have no exploits like that, but in NBA, you could always win if you really wanted, you just need to play by gentleman rules, you need effort from yourself to immerse in a game.

\you still have to have gentlemen rules for AI,

At least in my college dorms the "Gentleman rule" was you'd get smacked if you started spamming known glitches in Madden.

2k can get lazy at times, which is normal for a game with no competitor, overall they did a great job this year. 8-)
