In general pretending that draft picks are more than informed gambles is a bad look. Like absolutely no one knows if Jabari Smith, Jaden Ivey or Keegan Murray will end up a better player, and Sam Presti would be the first person to tell you that. GMs and scouts just decide between those guys based on a few fairly random factors (and their gut) and they don't have any more insight or control than that.
Your point is fair, but you aren't doing yourself any favors with the first line. Aldrich was drafted 12 years ago, and Payne 7 years ago. I'm not sure you can call a team a train wreck because they miss a lottery pick once every 5-10 years. The original thread of discussion was being critical of teams that are *repeatedly* drafting in the lottery with nothing to show for it. Like my Warriors years ago, in the pre-Lacob dark ages heh

I think this could easily turn into the 2019 draft all over again. The physical phenom that truly looks like something we’ve never seen before, but with that comes major questions about his health. Then a freak athletic PG that may not seem to have the same ceiling as the freak at #1, but still has a crazy high ceiling with a lot less worry about health.

Yeah, you and Utah have had your fun in the sun. The teams that need him are Charlotte, Sacramento, or Washington. Everyone else has won a lot in the last 20 years or had a lot of top 4 lottery picks recently
