And that's it for the thanks for the sanity and lack of drama. That thread dropped to the second page just in time.

If one wanted to be cynical one might say Draymond did learn his lesson during the KD altercation. KD wasn't signed on yet for the coming years. Draymond's contract was going to be negotiated. Now the same situation again with Poole. Timing isn't great from that perspective too is it not?

My thought as well actually.

My gut instinct however, does tell me that Dray probably had the ump building on Poole who is probably starting to act like he’s a superstar and still continues to play no defence. Who knows though, none of us were there, although a few in this thread are commenting like they were.

That’s true as well, defense has always been both key to this team and significantly reliant on Green. I am a big Wiggins fan and enjoyed him shining in the most recent play-offs, but am not sure the non-GSW fan who considers that him playing smart defense is somewhat reliant on guidance from Draymond.

A lot of you are taking sides here. so do i, probably. So here it is:

I don't need to be there to suspect Draymond was the detonator. he has a history with this sort of crap. yes, he is a bully, but don't blame this particular moment on JP. He is cocky, but he always was like this from what i saw.

Frankly, i will try to unload Green and find another defense specialist. he is just not worth all the drama, if you ask me. the season is long and he could potentially do more damage than good in the long run, especially if his podcast crap will get involved as well.

At that point I thought it was just a joke from Klay, now maybe there is more truth to it.

The same Klay who also has an ego (the only player that didn't change his game for the team when KD joined the team), that has a contract extension in 2 seasons and JP plays in his position? Who also outplayed him overall throughout the season? JP is cocky as hell, but I wouldn't put that much weight in Klay's statement.

There is a lot of conflict of interest in relation to Wiggins and JP now that money's involved in relation to everyone's contract. That turns brothers and sisters against each other, let alone teammates.

Assholery aside I like the idea of using Draymond as salary ballast to get value in a Poole trade.

That combo could bring back a heck of a player in return and help with the lux tax crunch

Going by what you see in public and what's reported, Pool is cocky and has a mouth, so that he and Draymond getting into it isn't surprise. Even putting more of the instigation on Poole. And Draymond is know to get heated and had had a number of blow ups with other teammates and coaches, but a physical response is crossing the line. It seems like Green respects Poole and vice-versa prior so it remains to be seen as to what impact has on their chemistry. Teamwise, Draymond will get something (suspension/fine) from the team and he will accept it. Is this a sign of anything more? I have no idea.

To be honest, in regards to the team, I am more concerned about Klay not playing/scrimmaging yet, and his statements about the mental aspect of not being ready.

If we are talking about being unlikable, then Dray is like Michael Jordan of that concept. Poole cannot compare.

Reading between the lines with Klay it sounds like he basically just chilled all summer and is really out of shape. He’ll be aight when he gets back.

We appear to be entering the “disease of more” era of this dynasty.

I don’t think the fight itself harms chemistry. These things do happen and for even stupider reasons in locker rooms. The problematic act here is Clutch leaking rumors about Jordan’s character to try to ease the harm to Draymond’s reputation. Everybody already knows you’re an **** Dray. Just take your L and shut up for once on your life.

Exactly. Poole is cocky and talks. And everyone knows Draymond isn’t quiet and talks his own share of ****.

So players talk **** against each other and Draymond hit Poole in the head. Wtf but ok, they are both big men.

Now having Klutch having ball sucking “reporters” leak “but but but… Poole has been “different” since extension talk”, what a pussy. Be a man.

Draymond is bout to be at $27mm expiring. He can beef his way right out the league. He’s just the salary ballast that lets us trade Poole for a $30mm player while keeping Wiggins. Poole is the asset in the deal
