Nurse speaks on it here. Remember he was a shooting coach to start before coaching - the nick nurse pill is what got him started and his invention. I think he has a hand in developing the NOAH as well but cant confirm

Pretty convincing. And that player he's talking about at the beginning..he's told that story before..it was Kyle Lowry :D

You would think we would have better shooters than we do, using this.

Even if you had bought it a while back, just imagine the fat slob you'd be, if you hadn't have made the purchase.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Shooting doesn't work like that haha, yes hard work can help change that but sometimes it just comes down to natural talent IMO.

So you didn't even watch the video? "A few years ago"....

They have used the system since 2017.

Nurse said Noah’s systems appeared on his radar in 2017 when the company emerged at the annual MIT Sloan Sports Analytics conference in Boston.

The Raptors pull Noah’s shooting data to analyze players’ performance and help fix shooting slumps should they arise. During the Raptors championship run in 2019, Nurse noted guard Kyle Lowry’s shooting arc was “flatter than it normally was when he makes a successful shot.”

OG, Pascal and Fred are the only players left from 2017/18.
Add Boucher in 2018/19
Birch, Flynn, GTJ in 2020/21
Precious, Banton last year.

If we're looking at guys who haven't really improved their shooting, % and volume...maybe Birch and Banton? no clue how much to attribute to this system, obviously, as opposed to just guys playing in the NBA and getting better.

You in no way implied the use of Noahlytics should result in an improvement. You said "using this". The discussion is focusing on a thing - the new display board/shot tracker. It is just used to show a variety of analysis.

If you want to hit me with "you didn't even watch the video" might I suggest you be more clear in your communication. How is it clear to anyone reading your statement that you thought that the improvement of their shot should come from the use of Noahlytics and not the new tech set up in the practice gym?

I would think Norm and Siakam going from like mid 200s in 2017 to good to great 3PT shooters now is some decent evidence.

“I’ve tried it,” says Norm Powell, whose draft stock fell in part because he shot only 31 per cent from behind the shorter college line. “I like it more when it tells you when you’re going left of right than when it tells you how high you’re shooting the ball. I can’t really tell how to adjust yet, but the “minus-1 to the right, minus-2 to the left” helps you line up, and then it’s more your release point and follow through — making sure it’s coming off your fingers the same way. I’m looking forward to learning more about it and having time to use it.”

I'm sure the new scoreboard and the Noah app will soon straighten out our poor three pt shooting tonight

Didn't stay up to watch the finish against Celts. No Ron Harper last night with the DNP-CD. Nursing an injury or is he being released this week?

I hope we keep Gabe Brown too. I like RH Jr, I just like Gabe's ability to space more.

It's going to be hard to keep any of these borderline guys.

You'd have to cut one or two of these 15:

1. Siakam
2. Barnes
3. OG
4. GTJ
5. VV
6. Precious
7. Boucher
8. Porter Jr
9. Thad
10. Birch
11. Banton
12. Flynn
13. Koloko
14. Champagnie
15. Bo Cruz

I'd drop the last 2 and keep Dowtin and JJ, because they bring offensive creativity in ways we don't have enough of. Whereas Champagnie and Bo Cruz provide redundant skills we have lots of. Just as keeping Bonga last year was a pointless redundancy. Not saying it'll happen, just my view of the preseason so far especially the Boston game.

edit - oops I just realized Dowtin is on a 2-way. So I'd keep JJ over one of 14 or 15 on the list.

Cut Malachi. Keep Josh Jackson. And keep Champagnie and Banton.
