Even if it doesn't work out and they decide to move him later for whatever reason, he's gonna be tradable at almost any salary, I'm not saying he should be but that's just where the league is. Tyler freakin' Herro signed for $32.5M/yr., Jalen Brunson signed for $26M/yr.. And the cap is going up. I'm hoping the Warriors can sign Poole in the $20M to $25M range, but even if it's closer to 30, it's not a terrible risk.

Draymond is a lot trickier. How many teams want a 32.5-year-old non-scoring power forward who's a known repeat malcontent and may have chronic back problems? And now a guy who punches his teammates. Yes, he's got the championship mettle, yes, he's a great floor manager (if his teammates buy in), and yes, when healthy he's an elite defender. But there's a lot of baggage and red flags there. Draymond just cost himself a lot of money, I'll be surprised if the Warriors offer him a dime over $25M/yr. now, if they don't decide to move on from him. Dubs management just got a great justification from Draymond himself to either offer less, not make an offer at all, or trade him.

Just want to point out that it's actually 33.6 yo. That will be his age when next season starts.

Any team signing him for 3-4 years, is paying him from 33.6 yo to 37/38 yo.

He can possibly still play up to 37/38. The only matter is at what price tag like you said.

When Draymond was losing control of his emotions on the court it was Abdre, not Steph or Klay that I remember taoking to Draymond.
It was like Andre is the big brother to Dray, Klay and Steph.

But it'd be the same had he returned as an assistant coach.

I am not sure. Even though they were teammates, a coach is not a peer, not part of the team.

Is green font a code for sarcasm that I did not know about? A sarcasm font standard could be useful.

It is, actually.

Maybe they can sign Poole for $25.5M this year and $27M next year, which would put him just under what Draymond's making. Maybe that's enough to get through the year without further incident.

Really having second thoughts about my unvoiced wish yesterday that local sports talk radio would find something to talk about besides Jimmy vs Trey.

Kerr just refuted the report that claimed Poole had an attitude and it was becoming an issue. Chris Haynes is a Klutch agent and b!tch.

Cracks me up seeing people take Draymond's side in this affair. First of all, Draymond is 32 years old and should, after a decade in the league, have a certain maturity about him to know how to handle situations. Second, he threatened his own team's health and chemistry by laying hands on a teammate's face. Then, Draymond may have leaked to the press a false story regarding the whole matter. Finally, Draymond did all of this less than two weeks prior to the object of his animosity's first real payday. Any one of these things, if done to Draymond, would have him going psycho, demanding that heads roll.

In contrast, you've got Poole. At the age of 22, post All-Star game, all he did was drop 23.4 per contest with a slash line of .465/.408/.930 for an eventual NBA champion. He had every right to come into camp with confidence and a little swagger. He's earned it. But, another teammate thought Poole needed to be "put in his place" and thought a proper means of doing that was to physically assault Poole. And, how did Poole respond? Did he run to the press or to Twitter to get in his side of the story? Nope. Poole, despite being ten years Draymond's junior, conducted himself like the better man.

Nobody comes out of this a winner. But, Draymond definitely emerges as a loser.

no way in hell hes picking up that option, he doesn't want to and certainly Klutch would advise against it.

Right, no way. He wrecks his knee and no one will sign him but he won't pick up his option. No way in hell.

We all know Draymond is a dick. We just overlook/ignore it because he is OUR dick. But he is definitely a dick... that is irrefutable.

Pretty much sums it up. Everyone here would despise Draymond if he played for any other team. Anyone who says otherwise is simply attempting to be a contrarian.

I was one of the only ones that called out Steph for accepting yet another full max contract. When your undisputed (Billionaire) leader sets the precedent of never leaving anything on the table you can expect the same attitude from everyone else. Dray, Poole and Wiggins now want every last penny they can get in order to feed their families. It's the end of roster guys that really suffer (but not really) who are forced to leave and the roster has problems because even though we have the highest payroll we still can't pay these guys. There are some greedy bastards in the world and some of them play for the Warriors.

I believe Curry asked if it would help the roster if he took less and they told him , “no”.

he's basically a PR guy for Lebron

Pretty much. I'm glad Kerr shot down his report today.

IIRC Haynes has a brother that's also an NBA reporter that got fired for homophobic tweets.

It actually looks like the whole team is refuting the claim about the team having a problem with Poole's attitude. So as it stands, it looks like Draymond is on his own. Chris Haynes looking like a b!tch right now. Draymond better start making it clear he's not Chris Haynes's source. Haha.
