Steph has now come to Poole's defense. So much for the "Poole is a punk" nonsense circulating this morning. Once the other players get behind Poole, Draymond will be out on a limb.

I believe Curry asked if it would help the roster if he took less and they told him , “no”.

Yes I've seen that mentioned but it still makes zero sense. Why would the FO say taking a little less doesn't help us going forward.

Steph was underpaid on his first contract. He's also got the second most popular jersey in the league and contributes to a ton of Warriors merchandise sales. He's a cash cow for the Warriors. Calling him "greedy" makes no sense whatsoever.

It helps them with the taxes but not with freeing space up. Curry could have left money and it would save dollars but might not be enough change anything. Curry earned his. They were making sure he got it.

Gonna get interesting when Draymond is asked the same question now Steph, Iguodala, Kerr, and Myers are backing Poole when it comes to that report. By default, that means the whole team is. Draymond better say the right thing even if it angers Klutch.

The plot thickens. This definitely lends credence to the Haynes/Klutch misinformation campaign theory. Not a good look for a journalist, not to mention Draymond and Klutch. I generally enjoying listening/reading Haynes, been following him for a long time, but I'm losing a lot of respect if this is what his job is now. Hitting Poole was bad enough, but now trying to backdoor pin the blame on Poole is really low and shameful.

LeBron may already have Draymond in touch with a Hollywood public relations spin doctor.

I wonder if Klutch ran it by Draymond that they were going to put it out there that Poole had it coming. Either way, not a good look for Dray.

Pretty much sums it up. Everyone here would despise Draymond if he played for any other team. Anyone who says otherwise is simply attempting to be a contrarian.

The weird thing to me is how many people here seem to despise him even while he's on our team

So that's when you're talking about trading him? If he picks up his option? That's a lot of moving pieces to fall into place.

Poor Draymond. He isn't smart enough to know that the cover-up is always worse than the crime.

I’d be happy to trade him today. But He’s close enough to valuable expiring to be the older salary ballast in a trade that features and attractive young player the receiving team will be happy to extend Poole. But we can’t get a good player back for Poole at his current salary slot.

We all speculate but the players in the locker room have a very good idea where "but but but... his attitude changed" came from. How certain agencies drive narratives through "reporters".

I really don't think punching Poole's face is a big deal.

How it was handled after the punch - whoever leaking or whoever trying to drive narratives to look better - will piss off the key players the most.

If you were Steph, would you be more pissed that things got heated and Draymond punched Poole, or would you be more pissed that someone in the locker room made up **** and spread some fake news through the media?

being on your team shouldn't make you go blind towards Dray's BS, in fact you should always be more critical of players on your team than anyone else.

bigger problem tho is his play on the court is starting to not be worth all the nonsense that comes with this dude. wouldn't mind offloading him onto LeBron soon.

Yeah, that's what confused me. Trade them now and some team is taking on Draymond's possible $54M salary. Tough sell, IMO.
