Anthony Slater with a lot to digest in the aftermath of Draymond's stunt yesterday. Click on the link for the audio.

I’d be happy to trade him today. But He’s close enough to valuable expiring to be the older salary ballast in a trade that features and attractive young player the receiving team will be happy to extend Poole. But we can’t get a good player back for Poole at his current salary slot.
Yeah, that's what confused me. Trade them now and some team is taking on Draymond's possible $54M salary. Tough sell, IMO.
Barring injury he is going to be good for at least one of those two years. If he takes his option he’s one year away from being 30mm of salary reduction. That makes it easy to extend Poole into his wake. I’m not seeing what’s so confusing?

Re: Draymond Green striking Jordan Poole at practice
I think Draymond gets dealt and I think there will be more incidences that cause the rift. Draymond directly cost the Warriors the 2016 title and then likely contributed to KD leaving.. has gone on record degrading Stephs past performances and could've cost the dubs another title with his podcasting, as it seemed to be a very noticeable distraction. His performance hasn't been consistent or impactful for a few years other than half a season in 2022 and then he got hurt again. If you replace what he gave the warriors in the playoffs, including when he was benched and almost benched in the Finals.. with other players of similar skillset(Jerami Grant Nic Batum?), its likely they wouldn't have missed a beat. I do think the Warriors are realizing his bark is more frequent than his bite these days..
I think hes being traded.. along with Poole and Wiseman after the season, maybe Kuminga as well.
Where would he fit?.. not many places..
Phoenix.. try to get Ayton after Dec - Dray/Wise
LA - 3 way with another team for Russ, maybe IND for Turner as Simmons mentioned
ORL - Wendell carter/ Gary Harris
Pistons are mentioned often, but they dont have much matchable salary or vet assets

Steph doesn't look annoyed at all

Steph specifically addressed the Poole "attitude" tweet.
I think the players especially stars know how these reporting works, and who leaked, and what agency instructed the reporters to drive these "narratives".
Steph's camp also has the same access to these reporters to drive certain narratives, when needed. You think Steph doesn't know why Chris Haynes wrote these fake news stuff about Poole, or who told Haynes to do that?

On top of everything else, Draymond has ruined his chances of winning the Nobel Peace Prize being announced in a few hours.

We all speculate but the players in the locker room have a very good idea where "but but but... his attitude changed" came from. How certain agencies drive narratives through "reporters".
I really don't think punching Poole's face is a big deal.
How it was handled after the punch - whoever leaking or whoever trying to drive narratives to look better - will piss off the key players the most.
If you were Steph, would you be more pissed that things got heated and Draymond punched Poole, or would you be more pissed that someone in the locker room made up **** and spread some fake news through the media?
Possible leakers are either the front office or Dray and his camp. I don't see why anyone else would it.
This might be similar to the Ime Udoka scandal where Dray wanted to get in front of the news to control the narrative. And just like that situation, it will backfire for Dray.

Dray picks up his player option and poole gets 4/120, its likely wiggins is let go.
if we let our best 2-way wing go for Dray/Poole i'm gonna be livid.
Slater seems to hint that this could be the case. Dubs are willing to let wiggs go into unrestricted free agency because they have moody abd kuminga behind him.

That essentially means the ‘two timelines’ approach is dead, and I can't see Lacob agreeing to that at all. If they wanted to go that route, they would have done it when the picks had the most value and would have returned players to help win a championship. But they didn't, because they absolutely wanted to groom the next generation of players. I'm not saying one of these guys won't be traded, it's possible, but all three? That would go against everything we know about Lacob and the FO's approach, and I can only see that if it's for a no-brainer superstar (i.e. not the Beal-kind) and I don't expect that player to be available (especially not for this package).

i completely disagree with that approach
and Minga to me is more of a combo big than a wing at this pt unless his perimeter skills develop at a much higher rate.

Re: Draymond Green striking Jordan Poole at practice
Retaning Wigs and Poole at the expense of Dray seems like the obvious choice to me UNLESS:
1. They think that Wiggs' defense and effort in the playoffs was an anomaly, or they believe they can replace him with an MLE level asset.
2. They think that Poole stagnated as a microwave scorer who is a liability on defense, and/or Rollins shows enough promise that he'd be ready to contribute in JPs role next year.
3. Letting Dray walk pisses Curry off to the point that he doesn't finish his career here. Seems unlikely.

Melo and amare should thrive in this offense. If Jeremy Tyler and cole Aldridge looked that good in summer league then us knick fans have a lot to be excited about. Make room for all the bandwagoners when we take off

Re: Draymond Green striking Jordan Poole at practice
Seems Dray would be unwilling to take less than his current contract, where the annual average is $25 million.
Is he still worth that kind of money? Probably the Draymond Green of the first 20-30 games of last season is.
The guy in the playoffs, especially the Finals? Not so sure.
Warriors may be reluctant to give him another 4 year deal, regardless of the total value of the package. He's going to want 4 years whereas the Warriors may at most go 3 years extension to his current deal.
Would $75 million for 3 years still be worth it?

Probably not. Especially not at the expense of younger, more productive players.
I know Steph wants to keep the core together but there are going to have to be sacrifices along the way if that's going to happen. And that's looking at Dray, Klay, to a lesser extent Wiggins and maybe even Poole.

Re: Draymond Green striking Jordan Poole at practice
A lot to unpack from Bob Myers this early Friday morning, most of it of a "let's act like it never even happened" approach. Personally, I don't think this can be swept under the rug quite so easily.
https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2022/10/warriors-gm-doesnt-think-draymond-green-will-be-suspended.html
Warriors general manager Bob Myers “doesn’t think” Draymond will be suspended by the team for punching Jordan Poole during Wednesday’s practice. Myers said Green apologized to the team on Thursday morning and his punishment will be handled internally.
Green will likely be penalized for “conduct detrimental to the team,” with the maximum fine being $50K.
Myers discussed a number of topics related to Green, Poole, and the incident:
On Green: “He’s been over that line. But he always comes back. He’s a unique guy. He helps us win.” Myers added that he has “confidence that (the altercation) won’t erode the fabric of our team.”
Myers said he doesn’t believe the incident occurred due to tension with the two players’ extensions looming, having been told that the dialogue leading up to the altercation was “not anything more than normal bickering in a scrimmage.”
Myers also said he’s having “ongoing” discussions with Poole’s agents about an extension, and the incident wouldn’t impact the talks with either player.
Green left the facility after apologizing and didn’t practice, but head coach Steve Kerr said he’ll rejoin the team on Saturday.
Myers said the team has had its best preseason “vibe” during his tenure, and contract situations aren’t affecting team morale.

Re: Draymond Green striking Jordan Poole at practice
Video is out on twitter of Green 'sucker' punching Jordan Poole. Can't tell what was being said obviously, but Green throws a wild right punch and connects with Pooles chin and Poole goes down, but Green also charges him and looks to hold him from falling. Others come to break it up.
I dont know what was said, but throwing and connecting a punch and an unexpected punch and landing it on someones chin warrants suspension imo.
