I don't understand why people expect a 7-4/7-5 guy so skinny to bang like Shaq, as if we were all stuck in 1997. The guy has to use his touch and length to shoot over the top, that's were his advantage comes from.
He's not going to move a shorter guy with a strong base

Porzingis even after his injuries is an excellent player. We saw it again with his national team this summer. In FIBA he´s really dangerous. He´s a hell of a player.
That being said with Sevilla, he wasn´t as good or skilled as Wembanyama. It´s crystal clear.
But those comparisons don´t matter at all.
Gobert was still a youth team player with Cholet at Wembanyama´s age.
Nothing really matters before NBA.
Who cares if Jokic has never played in Euroleague or Eurocup or if Giannis was just a Greek 2nd division player?

Amazing talent, he has to build his body to handle the physicality under the basket and avoid injuries. If he could have a similar body transformation to Giannis we will be talking about a today's age Wilt or Kareem. At the very least, defensively he will alter everything around the basket without having the offensive limitations of Gobert

And seriously, how good does Scoot look too? He made some ridiculous buckets against some damn good defense and contests from Victor.

yoyoboy wrote:Honestly if he was in the same draft with LeBron, I think he might go #1 over him. I mean Wembayama is just unreal at this point.

I don't think so, keep in mind LeBron his age (okay, 5 days older, respectively) was already 20-5-5 player in the NBA that following year, and 6th in the MVP voting a year after. He was THAT ready and still had so much to fill. What's irrelevant (Wemby may become the better player, why not), but I don't think he would've gone first.

And about these comparisons to Porzingis, they're not laughable in this sense that from style of play perspective, KP may be in fact the closest thing to the French kid. But it's really hard not to see the difference there both from athleticism and skillset perspective - that shows Wembanyama is a solid tier above as a prospect.

Yeah, maybe I was very wrong about Wemby's offensive capabilities. Put too much stock on his debut EUroleague season, he looks like he could be superstar on both ends, prior I believe he will only be superstar on defensive end. Kid is crazy special.

Scoot most years would be considered a strong 1 pick. It just so happens this season that a generational prospect is at the top. This class overall is going to be massive for the league.

Nobody's saying he shouldn't be shooting jumpers and working on his perimeter game, I don't know where 4 separate people have gotten that from this post thus far. The point is that he has zero reason to be fading away on baseline jumpers over 6'8 dudes. I mean, if he's ever being guarded by Gobert or Giannis? Sure, it's great that he can do that. But he's really not a great shooter yet, and the Durant comparisons are ridiculous right now (Durant was already a 47/40/81 shooting splits guy at Wemby's age). This and the jab-step cross-overs are just youtube and And-1 mixtape stuff that gets the casuals excited, but that's not the NBA translatable stuff that's getting scouts excited. Would much rather see him just rise up and shoot over the guy who's literally 8 inches shorter than him.

what? we didn't see him play after he tore his acl before trading him. i really think you don't remember these years well

I'm talking about the injury the medicals. You saw his injury, the medicals, the surgery, the info on recovery, the limitations of recovery.

 you know damn well you wasn't talking about medicals

I dont get the hype on scoot henderson? How is he different than Russell Westbrook and ppl hate that guy here?

Vic is like a taller ad on defense and taller kd on offense. Best draft prospect in nba history.

Can you imagine what a guy like Embiid is going to do to this kid? He needs to put on a lot of weight. Which makes you worry about his frame and feet.

Scoot hasn’t given us the belief that he’ll stand there with his hands on his hips without the ball, or just decide he doesn’t play defense. He doesn’t seem the type to double down on poor jumpshot attempts that are hitting the side of the backboard.

But yea, he looks the part of the Westbrook/Rose/Morant mold.

Also, we don't want Russell now, or for the last few years, but he was a flawed yet fantastic player for a significant period.
