DWH, Black and Jackson would be my early guesses

same, but whitmore over black for me.

NBA rules and court vs FIBA plays a role

Yes, and I'll add:

- NBA game is played with more running, transition, spacing... it's a more "open" game
- FIBA game is played with more physicality, and reffed as such too

Lots of NBA players have said as such in the past few months... Jokic, Giannis, Luka, etc.

Plus, there's the level of competition too... this G-League team would get embarassed by the top FIBA clubs, obviously.

Yeah the G league team seems to play little to no defense.

Wemby in the NBA is a different thing entirely even though the rules are the same. Though I don't think anyone on the Kings is stopping him.

I have Amen Thompson competing for the top 3, pending improvement in shooting. Nick Smith, GG Jackson and Anthony Black might be others.

Amen, for sure, he's always been in the running...

Personally I don't see GG getting into the top 3 because I think I had read that he doesn't have a great wingspan & he's not super skilled (at least not last time I seen him. I'd also be pretty surprised if Black made it into consideration. I'm not all that blown away by Smith, at least not yet, seems a bit thin, not that explosive, obviously skilled but I don't see a lights out scorer personally.

Other guys I could see competing for top 3 besides Amen:

Dereck Lively
Dariq Whitehead
Cam Whitmore
Brandon Miller

Thing is, it's a strong draft, but VW is so head and shoulders above everyone else that it's going to be a major disappointment with whoever you get if it ain't him. Anyone saying otherwise is just trying to push their hipster contrarian agenda.

Re Scoot and Victor: if there were hypothetically a 10% chance Victor stays healthy in his career, I'm still taking him over Scoot. There are prospects on par with Scoot in every draft. Victor might be the greatest prospect ever.

No GM will pass on Vic at #1. The question is can anyone catch Scoot at #2?

I think several GMs would take Scoot over Vic.

I think if a team is really missing a PG then they'd weigh the injury concerns and fit against Wemby's talent.

Rockets? Thunder? Magic? Wizards?

These teams are loaded with perimeter bigs and/or desperately need an elite PG

disagree, no way.

even if Wemby gets injured, these GMs have the 'everyone would've taken Wemby at #1' excuse. no one would've ever faulted Griffin for taking Zion #1 if he couldn't stay on the court, b/c everyone in that position would've taken Zion too.

Zion is a wing player that put up one of the best college seasons of all time. The others in the draft were in the same competition to compare.

Neither Wemby or Scoot are wings, they are a PG and a C, so I think fit plays a role more than with Zion. I think Wemby has a lot of hype but a lot of questions. Health, euro shooting %s and fit.

If Wemby can put up more numbers like he has the past two games while staying healthy this season then I will change my mind before draft as he'd be answering some of those questions.

Interesting question, would you guys choose Wemby over Zion based on pre-draft season?

Yes, and it's not much of a question for me. The only prospects since LeBron I'd have a question about are Luka, Oden, and Durant. Obviously one did not turn out like the others, lol.

id still take Zion at this point, people quickly forgetting just how ridiculous he was as a prospect and still ridiculous.

The greatest of all time of all time?
The GOATOAT

I mean Luka killed him in euro stats.
Porzingis had better euroleague stats.

So we're projecting the GOAT based on the 2 G league games and dimensions/potential?

Yes, most stats are meaningless when projecting NBA success.

What about minutes per game?

Victor is on 18mpg, do you not have concerns about the bubble wrap or lack of conditioning for full minute games?

No need to be piling on minutes at such a young age while his body is developing.
