As a matter of fact, I was.
It happened while I was in high school, 6th grade. I was around 12/13 years old.
After some class, everybody went out to eat, drink, etc. Time was up, so people were returning to the classroom.
As I returned to the classroom and was sitting in my chair, some guy came directly at me and punched me in the face. People restrained him. He said he did that because I was offending him while passing by outside the classroom.
It was bull from his part. Teachers found out later he was involved with drugs at the time. Probably confused me with someone else.
I never forgot it, obviously.... which isn't the same thing as saying that, if I saw him in the streets right now I'd retaliate.
So I speak from experience, sir: for some things in life, it's better you move on.
So, please avoid your "I'm pretty sure that you've never been sucker punched in the face" rethoric. You don't know absolutely anything about what I've been through in life.
I'm not defending Draymond here, I'm just saying this is an internal matter related to the team and anything anyone says here is conjecture bordering on gossip.
Obviously, everybody reacts to certain situations differently. The kid who sucker punched me knew exactly who I was, and I still have no idea why he did it. Now, 50 years later, I still remember it vividly. I'd like to think I'm over it, but it absolutely wouldn't bother (or surprise) me to learn that he's dead. At the time, to repeat, I absolutely seriously thought about killing him. You're right -- we have no idea how JP might respond to all this. I do know for sure that he'll never forget it. I noticed in his press conference that DG briefly apologized to JP's friends. He can't be sure how they'll react to this either. It's hard to say if DG actually understands exactly what the potential implications are of what he did. He seemed to be much more upset that somebody leaked the video than that he punched someone who likely trusted him in the face for no apparent reason. Based on the video, it wouldn't surprise me at all if DG someday sucker punches the wrong guy, and learns a very short lesson. Hopefully not. But what the video shows is somebody who clearly can't control himself. Or somebody who's just a really bad person. Or both.
