Poole doesn't look injured and there doesn't even appear to be scratched, so I doubt he could actually sue Draymond for much. Typically to get an award in a court, one has to prove damages. Poole would have to argue emotional distress from the altercation, and while his push was nothing in comparison, it's not like he didn't also have physical involvement. I'd actually be surprised if he could get much.

Furthermore, this type of thing would be very bad for the Warriors, so remember who you are rooting for. If you want Draymond gone just trade him, suing is basically a guarantee of one of the two being traded.

Maybe that’s what Poole wants after all of the public ridicule he’s facing.

What ridicule is Poole facing?

Hmmm...Maintaining continued proximity to someone or something with a history of volatility simply because they have not yet significantly injured anyone. I couldn't help but think back to Ming of Harlem: :D

https://www.dazeddigital.com/artsandculture/article/23671/1/the-documentaries-exposing-new-york-s-weirdest

Back in 2003, a dude named Antoine Yates was living in an apartment in Harlem. He had somehow managed to keep hidden from other folks in the building the fact that he was keeping a 500 pound Bengal tiger (named Ming) in one room and a seven foot long alligator (named Al) in another room. This apparently copacetic coexistence had gone on for five years - until Antoine was outed when Ming attacked him and put Antoine in the hospital after Antoine attempted to prevent Ming from eating another pet - a small house cat named Shadow. Initially, Antoine said that he had been bitten by a pit bull. Hospital personnel, suspicious that Antoine's bite marks would have to have come from a pit bull the size of a refrigerator, notified the police. Even after being arrested, Yates refused to admit that anything was wrong with the arrangement. And why should he? Even Antoine's roommates (yes, somewhere along the way Antoine had apparently taken in roommates) thought nothing of living with a 500 pound tiger and seven foot long alligator. A woman who shared the apartment said "she was terrified at first - but soon got used to living with the man-eater down the hall. Caroline Domingo said "she couldn't believe her eyes when she spotted the big cat roaming free in the apartment where she and her husband rented a room from tiger-owner Antoine Yates. But eventually, she said...We all became family."

I'm down to listen to the victim here (Poole), I just highly doubt suing in court would be something he'd want to do. I don't think he's being ridiculed either, just some embarrassment perhaps from getting punched and everyone watching it.

In the hood or in prison you are seen as a punk if you don’t retaliate. He’s facing being seen as weak if he doesn’t do anything to get him back.

No, but a lot of men have that mindset. Especially pro athletes.

I still think it would make a helluva new nickname for Draymond...Ming the Tiger.

Dude, this is the second time in two days that you've referenced a "hood or prison" comparison, concern with being "seen as a punk" and the need for "retaliation." I've watched the Shawshank Redemption too. But, I've never mistaken it for "How to Win Friends and Influence People." :D

Poole is going to be a centamillionaire soon.

He's not going back to the hood.

He doesn't even look like he's from the hood anyways. He went to some private prep school before going to Michigan. Wouldn't be surprised if his family was middle class.

would be shocked and it would be a bitch move by Poole. that's why he won't do it.

so weird that so many people are actually suggesting this. this should be addressed in house only.

lol @ involving the courts here. wtf?

It would have been fine to address this in house only, except for the fact that the whole world saw the video. Poole will look like a bitch to a lot of men if he does nothing.

there isn't a single real man on the planet that wants to see Poole pursue charges, lmao.

What does Poole care about hoodlums and prisoners opinions on his “manhood”. I dont think JP is in highschool anymore.

If he did damage to Poole's face, maybe mess up his nose and ability to breathe, would be a disaster for the season.

If he struck a civilian, you better believe there would be a lawsuit.

Looney weighs in on the situation, making clear that Draymond is on an island and it's all on him to get himself back to shore.

Sue him for what? Hurt feelings?

Not sure if you heard, but Draymond sucker punched Jordan in the face at his place of work and it was caught on camera. Google it.

So you have no idea what he would sue him for, you're just blathering. There has to be some damages to collect anything, from the looks of Poole tonight he's not damaged. So just hurt feelings, I guess.

One of you wants Poole to sue and the other wants Poole to hire a hit man. So, what does Poole do instead? He comes out and drops 25. Ever heard the saying "Living well is the best revenge?"

I never got the impression JP is some brainless thug that turns to violence to deal with the difficulties in his life.

As for Draymond, maybe he was being honest and had some personal stuff he was dealing with that drove him to lash out? I hope this is dealt with by Draymond by resolving to his teammates that no matter what, he'll never needlessly resort to violence to express himself. I believe everyone, including Draymond, is capable of maturation and concluding as much.

Damn is Poole entertaining to watch. Love the guy. I know at times in the playoffs his defense was really bad but he also saved us in a few of those games.

Watching him to tonight, I thought he made a real statement. "I'm above that crap that Draymond tried to pull. I'm here to ball, to play, to make a positive impact on this season and this team."

Impressive.

Draymond? Was he at home secretly rooting for the Lakers?

Also, didn't you love Steph giving Poole his award for being the best free throw shooter last year? Seeing the two of them laugh and hug before the game really made it easy to forget the nightmare of this week.

I think the punch was out of line and Draymond has shown us who he is over and over, but I think the reaction to the video has gone off the rails at this point. Poole looked to be just fine tonight and was putting up shots after practice the day he was punched where he looked unscathed as well.
