I blame Draymond for escalating. I don't blame Poole. But if Draymond ran up into my face I can tell you I would not try to push him unless I wanted to get my ass whooped.
I can't believe people have this view of it. You'd just stand there and let Draymond walk right into you and spit venom in your face? Because that's what was happening there. I don't just mean Poole's "personal space", the imaginary comfort zone around you. He was IN Poole's physical space. Maybe he's going to bit off your ear or something? Any reasonable person would push back on that. You HAVE to.
This right here. If someone is bodying you right up the instinctive reaction I'd argue is to push them away. Maybe if you grew up in certain areas you'd know the danger and have trained yourself not to react in such a way but I give zero excuse to the one getting that close no matter where it is and why I find it very hard to just ignore what Draymond did. Criticizing Poole for that little push he gave is tantamount to blaming the victim.
Or maybe just ignore them? Physical violence is not the only option.
