Should count double if it's because you were arguing with a ref

I would much rather they stopped using the basic box score stats we have now than add to them. Start using stats that tell you something more meaningful

I like this but I think it should be quantified more. Raw count of "opponent's shots while you're in the backcourt" would be easy to count with no judgment call needed. But it would be more useful as a percentage of opponent's FGA or some other way of quantifying it.

Charges drawn is the most obvious one. Easy to count and should be included. Deflections would be good, too. It's already available somewhere in advanced stats - people mention it all the time. Most of the suggestions that have been mentioned require too much of a judgement call for a scorekeeper.

Well, if you could choose one meaningful stat which one would it be?

I don't know if it exists but I would like to see a stat that provides an expected points value for every pass made used.

I know Liverpool use stats like this in the Premier League so it is possible they already exist at the team level.

All the ones you suggested I wish were part of a standard boxscore (though I can't decide if I'd like Screens Set, or only Screen Assists recorded). Deflections would also be a good one to have recorded.

Something like Shots Changed could also be good, but I suppose that gets too subjective (though the same could be said of assists, really).
