Draymond Green's Jordan Poole punch 'jarring' to Patrick Baldwin Jr.

The Warriors' post-punch message to the youngsters has been crystal clear.

“I just told them that this is not normal,” coach Steve Kerr said Monday.

Green has said very clearly that he was at fault and he is sorry and he betrayed a trust. So what's the point of all this "Green's fault/Poole shouldn't have pushed" nonsense? Green did something wrong. He admitted it, and he's (at least for public consumption) sorry it happened and blames himself for screwing with team chemistry. End of THAT story, at least -- Poole not at fault, per Green.

Man, there sure are a lot of people on this board itching to get rid of Draymond Green, but there are even more itching to have a conversation about absolutely anything as they wait until the season starts.

Only reason to trade Draymond at this point is if they can't get close to an extension and he looks destined to opt out after the season.

So they would want to get something back rather than have him walk away.

But right now, they are shooting for another title so they're not going to make big moves unless they're sure it will improve the team.

I guess I may be alone, but I thought Draymond's press conference in which he "apologized" to Poole (did he, really?) was insincere and all about burnishing/building his brand. Guy spent way too much talking about himself.

Baldwin, Kuminga, Moody and Rollins are all only 20 years old. How much you want to bet that all of them got calls from their Mom saying "Stay away from that man" in reference to Draymond.

I think that is "a" reason to trade him but not necessarily the "only" reason. If trust cannot be re-established and the internal discord translates to poor performance on the court, that could be another reason to trade him.

We cant trade Draymond at this point we have to ride him and Curry until its over. Try to put everything together for the final punch and see what happens next season.

Yeah, I'm not buying ANY of that. Draymond is very good at playing the contrite, sorrowful, guy who just lets his fiery, competitive spirit occasionally get the best of him, but the truth is he's a hair-trigger, loud-mouth, overly-sensitive, violent bully who berates friend and foe, who will play the newly-focused and reformed good guy until it blows over and then he'll do it again at the first opportunity. This is really bad for all the young guys on the team who now have to feel intimidated by him every day and walk on eggshells around him. He's the definition of "toxic workplace".

There was nothing sincere there. You can screw up so many times before people eventually learn their lesson about who is who. This is who Draymond is, not some random isolated incident.

I expect this season to be a potential "Last Dance" type year for our core 3, with the caveat that Draymond may return if we defend our title. But if we don't defend I think Draymond is the cap casualty we all have wondered about. Can't keep 'em all.

It will also change if the Warriors TRADE Draymond Green and don't win it all. I'm wondering what ownership is leaning towards.

What if they trade Draymond and still win it all?

That would be great!!! I would love that. Would show the Warriors offense

So Draymond fined an undisclosed amount, no suspension. I think he got off way too easy but whatever. He's returning to practice Thursday, expected to play last preseason game and season opener.

Draymond's a d-bag but he is our d-bag so I will root for him. Glad it's over, now go defend your title.

I'm just laughing at all the people who are so mad that Jordan didn't call for Draymond's head.

I may be p!ssed at Draymond, but if these adults want to deal with this themselves, then who am I to stand in their way?

I'm wondering how big a target Draymond is going to have on his back this season. Especially early in the season, opposing teams are going to know that Draymond's conduct will be under a microscope. An extra hold here, an extra shove there. Draymond so much as farts in retaliation and he's likely to get T'ed up.
