But yeah, Dalano has been great so far. Banton becoming a capable rotation player that Nurse trusts on defence, and can function in a half-court offence would be great for the Raptors' depth going forward.

Im not sure he's a point guard in the halfcourt in his final form (insert frieza meme), but more of a grab and go guy in transition and in the halfcourt i see him attacking close outs with his ridiculous first step, and finishing off cuts, and Hopefully some catch and shoot ability. Still a very good very solid player at his size too.

Everyone needs to keep in mind that Dalano got off to a super impressive start for a couple months last year also. He pretty much regressed the rest of the season thereafter. He has great promise for sure but he has been playing a lot of competitive basketball over the summer and his conditioning and playing edge this early in the season will be further ahead then most of the rest of the league. That means he has had an edge up to this stage of the proceedings.

He needs to find consistency in his play over the long haul. Shooting is still his weakness but he certainly has the athleticism to become more reliable over time. He is still a major work in progress but for sure has looked pretty impressive thus far.

He's made some pretty good sized strides in ability to take people off the bounce, and small strides in his shooting. The progress is good; Like Boucher, I think this guy is going to stay with us for a bit, and develop gradually over time. I see a very strong 3rd guard, crowd favourite off the bench type of role in the future.

There was a recent video interview that Dalano had where he was talking about the growth of his game, and he attributed it to the summer he just had. He's really put in the work and it's amazing to see more of that potential blossom right before our eyes. Looking forward to seeing him get steady rotational minutes this season. Also, I'm not sure where I saw this but someone called him the "Rexdale Reaper," and I like that. I wonder if there is any other nicknames for him out there?

Livingston was 4th overall, so to see so many similarities begs the question of how Dalano was still available at our pick.

Also, Livingston is 37 years old.

Man that pronunciation is cringe worry, I wish I skipped it, but it was like a car wreck, I just had to "watch"/listen

He has all of the tools to be a contributor. I think he can at least become Raptors version of Delon Wright/Late career Shaun Livingston as his reasonable floor. If he can get a consistent jumper he's a rotation piece.

very small sample, but he's shot the ball a lot better this year. He's currently at 52 FG% / .455 3PT%.

Defense also looks much more consistent.

dalano had a bit rough start to the season but I liked how he bounced back and played the past few games. have no problem with banton getting rotation mins at this point. he'll make his fair share of mistakes but that developmental time is invaluable.

3 for 3 from three plus 2 nice transition dunks. Good showing.

Halfcourt offense against better teams is still the question mark

Another year of growth for him. Now with Otto in the fold and Scottie proving he can handle PG duties more and more, it will be even tougher for Banton to get minutes. He's got to continue to play tough D and hit open 3's.

He just needs to get stronger and he'll be a really good backup combo guard.

I think Dalano is a better finisher than a facilitator. Rather him run out than bring the ball up the court which is not what most people hoping him to be the backup PG. I'm fine with this, let him play where he most excel rather trying to fit a round peg into a square hole.

Flynn isn't the answer at all at backup PG. He's a shooter.

Best man for the backup PG job is FVV

Considering the flaws of young Raptors players of the past, I see a the glass half full far more often than I see it half empty. Remember Joey Graham, who was picked around 15th overall? I liked the man, but that glass was far more often half empty.

Banton is a SG/SF at this point in his career.

PG FVV
SG Banton
SF Otto
PF Boucher
C Precious

With Fred running that bench theycould probably beat some bad teams.

Banton made some shots in that last game though it was overshadowed by humiliating loss.

As long as we understand he's probably not going to end out as a PG, should be fine. I think he can still be a decent bench player.
