The Lakers Should Trade for Jae Crowder, No?

Post#1 » by Liam_Gallagher » Wed Oct 12, 2022 4:46 pm

The Lakers should trade for Jae Crowder.

They have too many point guards and Phoenix needs a backup. Kendrick Nunn for Jae Crowder should work for both squads. The Lakers barely have any wing defenders and their only SF/PF outside of LeBron is Juan Toscano-Anderson. They really need a backup SF/PF.

The concept makes sense, but it would need to be Lonnie Walker's salary along with Wyen Gabriel's non guaranteed deal to make the cap math work. Walker can't be traded until Dec 14.

Atlanta and Milwaukee can both make deals prior sending either Culver or Justin Holiday (Atlanta) or Grayson Allen (Milwaukee).

I would hate to see Crowder waste his last few years.
The good thing about BI is he can shoot over defenders.
The bad thing about BI is he can shoot over defenders.

No. Lakers do need defense badly and 3 point shot. He isn't exactly a great 3 point shooter and he's old. Enough with the old guys, rotating fast is more needed for them than experienced defenders. They have the experienced. Need a ton of lateral quickness, that's what made em fail miserably last season.
“These guys have been criticized the last few years for not getting to where we’re going, but I’ve always said that the most important thing in sports is to keep trying. Let this be an example of what it means to say it’s never over.” - Jerry Sloan

If the Suns would be willing to do it.

What does LAL have that PHX would want?

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

Not really. I don’t see him fitting in at all into their system. There’s already noise to Miami anyways. Probably for the great Duncan Robinson! They might have to add Craig for salary purposes, which I still see as a fair trade. Craig is 3rd string 3/4 for them currently as they gain an elite shooter off the bench.

His hype precedes him. He is a small ball 4, same as LeBron and he goes completely cold from 3 in inopportune times. Ask Miami and Phoenix about that experience. He'll end up in Cleveland. They have a severe dearth of wings.
