Miles Bridges wife, Mychelle Johnson, on IG:

“…Forced to take down pics. Paid to do this and that. Told to lie, pushing me down to my last breath.”

That is a woman being pressured, harassed and crushed beneath a posse seeking to free Beater Bridges and his money train.

I suspect his attorneys insisted she remove the pics and threatened a lawsuit. Probably supplied money for her temporary support but pushing her to lie, recant her statements, to weaken the state’s case. I hope she takes his ass to the cleaners and back…after he’s convicted and in prison. Frankly I’m surprised she wouldn’t have secured her own attorney and filed for divorce already. It would strengthen her position and stake claim to existing money/assets. Doubt they had a prenup.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Miles better be glad he plays for an irrelevant franchise as far as espn and such goes. Draymond punches Poole and it's been nonstop for days. Miles nearly kills his woman and haven't heard anything nationally in months

Dangerous implications there and a lot of conclusions drawn without any real info or context.

"Forced to take down pics": by whom? Miles? How in God's name can he 'force' her to do anything? I assume they aren't cohabitating. If it's her lawyer or the state then it's probably for the betterment of her case

"paid to do": does that mean she has no problem doing things so long as she gets money? That implies questionably legality... If she DID take money to do things, I would assume Miles' side would be smart enough to include an NDA, which means her commenting on it opens her up to a different set of potential legal issues.

Implying that she's receiving money to recant, refuse to testify, or in any other way tamper with or impede the investigation and legal proceedings opens both her and Miles up to another set of legal issues.

All of that to say, we can't really draw any actual conclusions from her comments.

I guess traveling MILES on BRIDGES turned out not to be a good idea. He could sink. Luckily for him I believe he will swim to shore.

At this point, I think the charges get dropped or settled. It doesn't make any sense at all that this keeps getting postponed.

something smells fishy, i dunno
i tend to agree, more times this gets moved, more likely case is dropped or settled.

Maybe if the charges are dropped we can keep miles for cheaper than what he would be worth. Then trade back for a bunch of future 1st and choose Brazile and there are a LOAD of quality 2nd round options including Riley Kugal who reminds me of Shaedon Sharpe a bit. If we unload Hayward there are some good SF in this draft and we can bounce back.

Melo / Cody
Rozier / Bouknight (or we can choose an SG like Mojave King, Matthew Murrall,)
DRAFT PICK - Nikola Djurisic, Colby Jones, OR Jalen Wilson
Miles / PJ / McDaniels (or choose a PF - brandon Huntley Hattifield, Toumani Camara)
Brazile / Thor / Richards/ Williams

Plus about 2-3 future picks for our 1st this year. Not to mention what we might can get for Hayward.

I know the charges being dropped are what's best for this team, but it's not what I want for this situation.

Agreed. I also selfishly fantasize about Miles being suspended a year us miraculously landing the first pick and Miles coming back next season with Wembanyama or whatever his name is.

That being said I want him to get the punishment he deserves

With all due respect to anyone reading this, and anyone "including myself" who has experienced injustice my heart goes
out to you. I <e you, God <3's you and I hope that you <3 yourself.

This might not be a POPULAR opinionated resolution, but sometimes prison isn't always the solution imo.
Especially when there are parents involved, or two poeple that have enterned into an agreement to be cordial and civilized
to each other.

There is a difference in what COULD be injustice as far as what a relationship/ agreement can lead too.
And what can happen to someone simply walking down a street and being assaulted for no apparent reason.

Lack of law justice, isn't always a lack of justice, and law justice isn't always justice.
They are just TITLES, and an attempt at what those titles should/could be.

Two grown adults with "class and maturity" (something that is almost IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND in the world)
should be able to avoid getting out of such a ratchet situation, and if they are unfortunate enough to find themselves
in such a situation they should/could be able to move on in a civilized manor without having to run to court and say your
honor your honor.

Imo prison for the most part are a result of people/persons involved not mature enough to come to a mature conclusion.
(this is on a case by case basis, not necisarily saying it doesn't pertain here).

I hope whether a prison sentence is imposed or not that the vicim/victims involved directly or indirectly learn, teach and preach
better going forward and are able to be better people.

if miles had shown one ounce of regret, accountability, remorse, ownership during this process i'd be more inclined to perhaps want a better outcome for him. from what ive seen, he's shown none of that.

Now that part I will agree with you 1 zillion percent on. Only thing I can think of him not doing so is maybe he hopes it all just goes away by not saying anything...

I truly admire your sound mind, and rational fatlever.

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/34941255/miles-bridges-pleads-no-contest-felony-domestic-violence
LOS ANGELES -- Charlotte Hornets restricted free agent Miles Bridges pleaded no contest to a felony domestic violence charge Thursday morning in Los Angeles Superior Court and will face three years of probation and no jail time as part of a deal with prosecutors.

The no-contest plea means Bridges, who was present in court, is accepting the punishment and the conviction without formally admitting guilt in the case. Bridges was accused of assaulting his then-girlfriend in front of their two children in May. In July, Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon's office filed three felony charges against Bridges, who initially pleaded not guilty to all three.

On Thursday, Bridges' attorney and the DA's office reached an agreement, which a prosecutor said the woman agreed to and approved of, that he plead no contest to one count -- California Penal Code Section 273.5(a), which covers domestic violence toward a spouse or other cohabitant -- and that the other two counts be dismissed. The felony charges also included "an allegation of causing great bodily injury on the domestic violence victim," and that allegation was dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

The original charges filed in July were one felony count of injuring a child's parent and two felony counts of child abuse under circumstances or conditions likely to cause great bodily injury or death. The DA's July release said the children were present for the alleged assault but did not otherwise specify what the child abuse counts stemmed from.

During his three-year probation, Bridges, 24, will have to undergo 52 weeks of domestic violence counseling and 52 weeks of parenting classes, serve 100 hours of community service, and undergo weekly narcotics testing with marijuana allowed only if there is a valid doctor's prescription. He cannot own any guns or ammunition or any dangerous weapons. He also will have to pay a restitution fine of $300 and a domestic violence fine of $500, and obey the terms of a 10-year protective order, staying 100 yards away from and having no contact with the woman. Bridges and the woman maintain custody over their two children, and any visitation or exchange of children must be done peacefully and through a neutral third party.

Bridges' attorney declined comment. The DA's office didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

At the moment, Bridges remains unsigned, but, if he were to sign with a team, the NBA, under the collective bargaining agreement, has the right to suspend, fine, dismiss or disqualify him from any further association from the league because he pleaded no contest.

Bridges was arrested June 29 by Los Angeles police and released on $130,000 bond. The Hornets and NBA have both said they were aware of the charges, with the league noting it is investigating the allegations.

Before his arrest, the Hornets had extended the 6-foot-7 Bridges, their leading scorer last season, a qualifying offer, which allows them a chance to match any offer sheet he signs with another team. Last season was his fourth in the NBA.
